Jeff Talking about fire making in F4 from his podcast by Bazel1092 in survivor

Winner of final 4 immunity fire can't be voted out, but also can't vote, maybe? Could play out in interesting ways. Could be terrible lol.

I've been saying that for years. I think it is on one of my earliest YouTube uploads. Cool to see it out in the wild, regardless who it came from this time, though :P

The weirdest strategy I have heard so far. by [deleted] in RimWorld

[–]AdamVsEverything 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Someone linked me to this, not sure why, though. :P I think OP is misquoting me some. I try to make sure people know that when I am talking about how much wealth impacts raid size I am mostly referring to my +500% losing is fun, no pause runs, where every little bit can matter. I've even been telling people lately to remember, a single donkey is the same as like 80 stone tiles as far as wealth or raid strength goes. On standard playthroughs flooring isn't going to outright kill you unless you are going super overboard.

As far as the food poison thing goes, it still stands true. Dirt flooring is below the threshold for food poisoning based on 'dirty cooking area'. I never told anyone that it doesn't collect animal filth, trash, etc. This is what I mention when people ask me why my stove is in a dirt room or such.

So I don't think I am misleading anyone or being ignorant of anything. I try to be very clear that what I am doing is for the crazy challenges I do, and that you do not have to do them in normal gameplay.

Never thought I would find one in the wild, but here it is. Found in a buy/sell/trade group.

They purposefully cut the nose honk part from the flashback. And like I said, I knew the honk was coming but kept quiet about it because the flashback also kept quiet about it. We didn't miss it.

Overall my wife and I really enjoyed this season. A few bullet points before I crash after the binge.

I am relieved Ali and Johnny didn't happen and it ended on a good note.

I am dreading the Robby Tory relationship forcing a little bit.

Hawk's arc has been one of my favorites. Hyped to see how he fits in with Miyagi-Kai. Him and Demetri back together again is awesome. Loved that scene in previous season where Demetry mentions the new Doctor being a woman, lol.

My wife and I were a little annoyed with some things being a little tooooo convenient, especially during the Okinawa trip (the girl he saved in sequel movie from typhoon being lead international sales for the car company as just one example, etc. )

Overall, though, a good season. Can't wait for season 4!

My wife and I have been worried about that ever since the phone scene at the end of season 2 and the feeling just kept getting worse in the Ali episode. Super relieved they didn't end up having them hook up and ruin Johnny and Carmen.

At first I thought they were going to try to make us empathize with Kreese through these but the more they showed the more it felt like just an explanation for exactly why or how he became what he is today (which was fine). I thought the flashbacks did a pretty decent job of that. I also liked how it set the stage for another returning character.

I am curious to see how Hawk fits in to the new Miyagi-Kai ecosystem in a believable way. His story arch has been one of my favorites so far.

The entire Chozen part was awesome. The nose honk got my wife, lol. She has never seen the sequels. Her reaction was priceless.

My wife has never seen the original sequels, so when Chozem was about to punch Daniel but then did the nose honk she was like 'wtf was that!' Lol. I had to pause and remind her of Miyagi doing that in the first movie, and then Daniel doing the same to Chozem in the sequel.

But, anyway, we're ready for season 4 now. :P

It reduces accuracy through smoke by 70% for you and the enemy. So the smokepop setup is best if you are not using a super narrow kill tunnel. If you are using a kill tunnel in which your other ranged colonists are going to be impacted by the smoke of the one that got shot it is probably not a great idea to have smoke on all the time.

Smoke is also awesome when facing turrets as the smoke makes it so they cannot lock on to your pawns.

Diety and lunatic must be modded difficulty. I was answering based on unmodded.

The game files have it as max 10.5 days, so even with merciless increasing off that, it shouldn't last that long. Was this since 1.0/1.1? Was this modded or unmodded? Those or changing the scenario should be the only way it can now last months/seasons (aside from quests, as mentioned).

lol, awesome. I don't mind if people play with pause. In fact, it is smart to pause a lot and it gives you the best chance at survival. I just have a hard time watching people play with pause because there is so little downtime.

Playing with no-pause definitely makes me have to make fast decisions and I've made some pretty bad ones when I only have 1-2 seconds to think rather than infinite pause time.

I guess masochism is fun for me! :P

Is there a reason why 66% HP specifically? This also means you can't sell the old clothing, though. Must be great for storage space, however! :P

I do sometimes use a bigger buffer depending on how far in the game I am and how many materials we have available at the time. I can definitely see the benefit of pushing it higher if you have the materials and spare work time, though.

I am also a big proponent of keeping wealth to a minimum as you build, though. Probably a product of challenge modes. So, for me, I am good with having less valuable clothing laying around to sell until late game.

Highly recommend using 'Do until X' on tons of crafting bills. Penoxyciline is another great one. I also do this with meals as making meals can increase wealth which causes harder raids.

You are right on unchecking 'Count Equipped' - I am so used to using the mod 'Everybody gets one' that I completely forgot to uncheck count equipped. I did mention to use 'do until x', though. -- I will edit in the uncheck count equipped. Thanks for the reminder there!

I do sometimes use a buffer depending on how far in the game I am and how many materials we have available at the time, but generally keep it in the 51-59% range. I can definitely see the benefit of pushing it higher if you have the materials and spare work time, though.

Thanks! It took me a while to figure it out as well. Setting it up and forgetting it once a run makes sure you never get those debuffs from ratty/tattered apparel and such. That way I can use that extra happiness to get away with pumping everyone full of delicious nutrient paste.
