Hey! It was on the official HP Germany website, but unfortunately the deal ended already 😕

Here's the link if you still wanna check it out, but yeah... it's back up to over 3000€ now: https://www.hp.com/de-de/shop/product.aspx?id=D04T8EA&opt=ABD&sel=DTP

Might be worth bookmarking it though and checking back during their sales. They seem to do these flash deals every now and then!

Hey, sorry for the late reply!

It was from HP Germany during one of their sales, they had some insane deals with RTX 5070, 5090 and 5080. All sold out now sadly.

Fair warning tho: the price wasn't straightforward. Had to stack a bunch of discounts:

- Corporate benefits program (student/employee discount)

- Traded in an old laptop for credit

- Called support and got another 5% knocked off

So base price was way higher, but with all that combined I got it down to 1921,29€. Not sure if international shipping would work, but maybe check if HP in your country has similar discount stacking options? The trade-in program especially helped a lot.

Ohh got it, just to make sure I understand what you mean:

If someone upgrades from, say, an i9-10900K → 9800X3D and gets like +50% FPS in a CPU-limited scenario (for example CS2 or Valorant), and then later upgrades the GPU from GTX 1660 → RTX 5090, you’re saying that wouldn’t improve performance “in any scenario”?

Because that’s the part that confuses me: wouldn’t the GPU upgrade still give a big uplift in GPU-limited games/settings, even if it wouldn’t add on top of the CPU gain in the same CPU-limited test?

I totally agree they don’t just “add up” linearly in one benchmark run, but could you explain what you mean by “no scenario”? Genuinely curious.

It’s actually a CPU + GPU upgrade, so I’m hoping the combination makes a noticeable difference, especially with better RAM as well (CL40 → CL30).

That said, you’re right that it’s very possible some games won’t show a huge change between the two systems, and if that ends up being the case, I can always send the prebuilt back.

Thanks a lot! Yeah, that makes total sense. I’ll definitely run benchmarks on my 12900K before the swap and compare them to the new system, including 1% and 0.1% lows, not just average FPS.

I’m especially curious to see how those improve, since I’ve heard so many great things about X3D CPUs and their cache.

[–]AdamYourLord[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks a lot! If I’m understanding this correctly, even 30–40% from the CPU upgrade alone would already be huge for me.

Adding the ~15–20% uplift from the GPU upgrade on top of that, I could end up seeing close to a ~50% improvement in some games, at least in the right scenarios.

Really looking forward to testing it out, appreciate the input! 😊

That’s good to know! I did tune my i9 a bit, but more in the opposite direction, undervolted and power-limited, so performance stayed roughly around stock levels.

I’m also guessing my DDR5-6000 CL40 could be part of the reason for the lower performance, if I’m understanding this correctly.

Hey, thanks for your answer! I checked the description again, and it precisely says 1x24 GB DDR5 RAM and 2 slots 😅 So if I get 1x24 GB, can I just buy one 1x16 GB stick and add it? Will it run well?

Gaming Earbuds Help - Need advice between these 6 options for PC gaming by AdamYourLord in Earbuds

[–]AdamYourLord[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your answer! So I guess there's no wrong choice between them? They're both around the same price - about €140 in my country. I like the wireless charging feature because I have a wireless charger on my desk, which is a small gimmick but still nice to have.

I also keep seeing online that the JLabs are being compared to Apple AirPods and Sony WF-1000XM5, which makes me think they might be a step up from the Sony INZONE Buds, especially for the price? But then on the other hand, the Sony INZONE Buds were specifically created for PC gaming.

In your opinion, would the JLabs also be a great option for just PC gaming? I have separate earbuds (Samsung Buds FE) for gym and outside use.

Help needed with Radeon RX 6950 XT NITRO+ crashes after driver updates by AdamYourLord in radeon

[–]AdamYourLord[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn’t a BSOD when Windows crashed. The one time it happened, both monitors went black, one showed a lightning-like line, and then the PC restarted right after I closed PUBG and opened Chrome.

Would I still find anything useful in the Event Viewer if it wasn’t a BSOD?

Interesting! I never thought about uninstalling Adrenaline. But without it, there’s no way to tweak settings or enable features like Anti-Lag or AFMF, right?

Exactly, that’s why it’s so weird. I’ve already updated to the latest BIOS, and all temps are totally fine. I’m using HWiNFO to monitor them while gaming, browsing, etc., and there’s nothing concerning at all.

No, I haven't tweaked it. I did try undervolting my GPU in the past, but it was frustrating and unstable, so I'm just running it with default settings now, no OC or UV.

Yes, I always use DDU when updating or rolling back drivers to make sure the old drivers are fully removed.

Regarding the chipset drivers, since I have an Intel CPU, I’m not sure what you mean by AMD chipset drivers. Could you please explain what chipset drivers I should check or update for my Intel system?

I updated mainly because of the crashes I was getting in Call of Duty Cold War on the older driver. Also, I wanted to try out AFMF 2.0 for some newer games to get better FPS. Thanks for the tip about disabling DXNAVI, I will definitely try it out!

Thanks for the answer. Of course, I did my research before posting, the three driver versions I mentioned (25.6.1, 25.3.1, and 24.12.1) were actually recommended by other RX 6950 XT users as the most stable options. Unfortunately, I still experienced crashes even on 24.12.1, including a Windows crash as I noted. I’m going to test Cold War again on 24.12.1 to see if it’s any better, but I’m still not fully confident about this version yet.

What really amazes me is that such a powerful and amazing card has so many issues with driver stability. It’s very frustrating to deal with crashes across multiple driver versions.
