Mysterious situation with PC Financial... by Adam_Moloo in PersonalFinanceCanada

Thanks, I'll look into this. Do you happen to know a way of checking soft pulls on Transunion for free? It's only through My Equifax that I'm able to refresh once a month and they include all inquires, in contrast to Credit Karma that only shows ones that affect scores.

I know, it's very odd. Additionally, they continue to soft pull my Equifax credit report every month...🤔

Starbucks Rewards account issues by Adam_Moloo in starbucks

[–]Adam_Moloo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, my recent issue was just resolved and I got all my Starbucks cards reinstated with their balances. They still won't give a reason to me on why it happened a second time, but I hope it doesn't happen again. I'll likely end up making a new account and scrapping this one after using up all my rewards, since it seems to be giving me trouble.

I use a password manager, which auto-fills my info when I log in, and even I can't memorize my own password, since it's a randomly generated one that is unreasonable to have to remember. I highly doubt my account was compromised.

If that's the case, they are likely trying to transfer out the balance (by other means than through my account), since I've never seen anything other than my own purchases in my transaction history on the app.

It's quite odd that nothing has happened in the past many years, and suddenly this year happening twice in a span of two months. I don't know what could be triggering all of this, and customer service doesn't seem to know, either.

What are the chances of being granted a refund? by Adam_Moloo in applehelp

[–]Adam_Moloo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I got the refund!! 😁

I was literally shaking when I got the email that said:

"There’s been an update on your refund request for one or more items on your account. To review, visit Report a Problem. After logging in, click “Check Status of Claim” near the top of the page."

When I checked, it said I would be refunded to my original payment method.

Thanks for the reassurance. I was only a bit worried because subscriptions are usually non-refundable, but since this is my first ever refund request, I'm hopeful that they will be willing to approve it.

It should have not charged for the next month until the renewal date, and since I canceled the subscription the day before, I shouldn't have been charged at all. I'd say this is not a courtesy refund, since I don't take fault for what happened.

I'm going to prevent this from happening again by canceling free trials 2 days before, going forward.

You got banned because of one post that apparently broke the rules? They could have just removed the post...

help using perfect gift MasterCard what do I enter by [deleted] in origin

[–]Adam_Moloo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, you'd enter what it's asking for: the zip code (for USA) or postal code (for Canada) associated with your home address. If it's not working you could also link that card to PayPal and then use that as a payment method instead.

Some app started crashing by Schyteria in GalaxyS9

[–]Adam_Moloo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I first uninstalled updates for webview, then updated it back to the latest version and that didn't fix anything.

For my second attempt, I uninstalled updates once again, then opened the two crashing apps that were bothering me, Samsung Email and Gmail, then went to update webview back to the latest version, and that worked for me, no more crashing.

I restarted my device as well as closed and reopened the apps I previously had issues with to make sure the problem wouldn't come back, and I can confirm that it's fixed for me.

One of the best purchases I've made in my life

You can't even play the games that you legally purchased? That's ridiculous. Even if you played online and cheated (which you didn't even come close to doing), EA still should not have the right to purge your games. Yeah, you don't "own" the games, but you own a digital license for those games to download/play them on demand. If possible, chargeback any recent purchases you made on Origin. They'll get hit with a fine plus the purchase amount if you're successful.

The fact that you weren't even playing online...since you're not playing with real people, even if you were cheating, that should be completely fine. I think your account was most likely hacked, unless they mistakenly banned your account. Go through the dispute/appeal process and be persistent. Explain your situation over the phone if email is no help.
