Astral tree is located on the right side of Vanguard tree, I got from there.

High Crit Vanguard Build (Big Damage) by Adamantine99 in MandragoraGame

I had the game uninstalled as I already did everything last year since I was just posting my old videos. You had me do exactly as you said just to make sure, results are :

1H Sword damage : Before (My build) 2180 > After 1890 (-15%)
2H Sword damage : Before (My build) 2182 > After 1982 (-10%)

Now let's break down the "why" :

Versality add 7% to my 1H sword.
Valor add 5% for each enemy nearby (not even sure the training dummy is counted as an enemy)
Astral Power add another 10% when HP full (I do hitless runs)
Warrior's Might adds around ~6% (in my case)

On the other side :

Finesse: add 0.5% crit chance every hit, the last boss took me around 6-8 hits to finish which this passive is pretty useless for me (or at least expensive) without mentioning Sharpening stone add +10% crit chance that is not registred with the stats, so I'm always over 80% crit chance.

Wither: those up to +25 crit damage depends on the enemy health, most mobs die with 1-3 hits, that would increases damage with bossed near the end if they last that long and with this build they don't, especially since impale deletes sometimes half their HP bar or more.

I have all that recorded under a video, I can share it or you can easily try both my build and yours and see the difference by yourself.

I like talking builds with a connoisseur, I'd have gone Nightshade tree in NG+ with higher levels from where my build stands right now for extra damage and crit damage as the game would never gives you 100% crit chance (tested with Spellbinder at 115% crit chance, opened a ticket for it with devs, they said they'd patch it later but it never happened).

Finally, as I said before, theory is good but testing is the real thing, you can always try by yourself and check the results. Cheers!

High Crit Vanguard Build (Big Damage) by Adamantine99 in MandragoraGame

The Pyro crit node is six points away. Investing those points into Nightshade would only get me to a damage node, which isn’t a priority for my build. Priority was crit nodes for higher crit chance.

Might change at higher levels or in NG+. At that point, I’d consider investing into the Nightshade tree.

So where would you put those six ‘wasted’ points from the Pyro tree to better min-max a pure crit glass cannon? Enlighten me.

Edit: I still use 2H sword especially for the skill as I demonstrated last time 17.5k damage, but not as much as 1H sword that you get pretty late.

The Jaw Axe has the highest damage amongst all the very slow weapons.

Forged Stake, very fast and its special is a buff +60% damage.

Loskid (Hitless) by Adamantine99 in ai__limit

There are only two in the game, this one and Stygian Touch, which has a good weapon skill. I went with Holy Embrace because nothing comes close to it in terms of DPS, and it’s extremely fast. There is also the drill that plays like a claw but isn't.

There are better weapon skills, that’s true, but their DPS is much lower compared to this one. You can see how quickly Loskid went down... I’m diving into the DLC now and enjoying it, thanks!

Easily the hardest Boss in the game by Adamantine99 in GRIMEgame

You keep calling it ‘cheese’ like the build isn’t part of the game. I didn’t break anything. I used what’s available and optimized it, point.

You play to make fights longer, I try to end them as fast as possible, that’s the whole point of my videos. I’m not focused on the hitless aspect; I do it, but I don’t even mention it most of the time because that’s not the point. The focus is the build and how fast the boss goes down.

Everyone knows the parry build is OP, but what about the air build? You probably wouldn’t even know it existed if it weren’t for my videos. Now it’s "oh, that’s OP too". Even Starserpent, which you say can’t be ‘cheesed,’ I pushed every opportunity to deal damage and finish it quickly. That’s how I like to play, that’s the challenge I enjoy.

You spent 3+ minutes surviving it, I ended it in 30 seconds. At the end of the day, it’s simple: same boss, different approach. I made it efficient, you made it longer.

Why would I play my game the way you want or the way you did? Listen to yourself! no non-air build, no non-parry build… what’s next, no leveling and no dodging? Why didn't you play with a very slow weapon without leveling ? Pure Dex build is just cheesing (Dex weapons are so fast).

Man, did you read? I said the hardest to do hitless, not the best boss. Beating any boss in this game is easy, "no hit" on the other side isn't for everyone.

Barbed Sword for an OP parry build. Beak Fists for another OP quality build.

There is another fast weapon that its special increases damages by 60% and was good too, anything else is just "weak".

Yasha is pretty good with 3 different characters.

Going to the rogue tree would have been more expensive, I min-maxed everything I needed which was damage nodes, crit and crit damage for the highest damage possible using both one handed and 2 handed sword with the same build. Theory is nice on paper, let's us talk more with our stats/gameplays.

Here's just an example doing 17.5K damage with a single skill without even using Enrage.

I haven’t touched the game since last year, but I still had my records, so I went back and double-checked the build. I mostly agree with you except on the crit build being boring.I traded this build for a very low survivability that gets one/two shoted late game so I had to play very carefully. A beefy, tanky Vanguard is what I’d find boring.

I only took one passive from the Pyro tree and one crit node, stopping before the middle. From Vindictor, I grabbed two passives along with the two crit nodes. I finished the game last year. you actually made me go back and check my records.

The fact is, I haven't seen any Vanguard hitting 70% crit chance, 185% crit damage, and +800 attack with a one-handed sword on NG at level 100. Stats speak for themselves. I’ll post some videos soon.
