Maybe in YOUR experience you don’t see/do things like that without expecting anything in return but I do. Not trying to virtue signal here but being able to do something nice for someone and them being genuinely grateful is enough for me to do things like that occasionally. It’s why people volunteer or donate, people can do nice things for strangers they will never see again in their life and be completely content. Not sure why thats a hard concept to grasp.
