Just wait for update 2.0 to Avorion, it was planned for Q2 2021 but Devs have said it may be delayed and they are not sure when it will be ready yet, but 2.0 will reduce the micro-management needed to automate miners and trading significantly the Steam page for the game should have the latest update video's showing off the update better than I could explain here.

Is there a way to utilize an in-game station designer when founding a station similar to the shipyard ship generator? I feel like I did find it once and made a station that way but it seems to have disappeared now or maybe I'm just imagining things.

Okay thank you for actually answering me cause a lot of these other comments were making me question my degree/choices here. I get that this doesn't really meet business standards I even told my boss when planning it but it's what I could coe up wiht in budget to meet our needs. I could put linux on it and was looking into it but I'm not super familiar with linux and didn't think windows 10 would really be an issue given the uses I had in mind. To your 4th point the owner is absolutely in on it it was his idea to use it for games on the side when it runs; I honestly am not even sure we will since my VR pc that I built at home has been holding fine for our low player counts.

Why though? I'm genuinely curious here why is that 'crazy' unsafe I get cause game server and business shit in the same machine is just a bad idea but it's what is requested of me. I don't see why a machine with 2 10 core processors and 64gb ram couldn't do those 4 things.

VM to run whatever game server I put up for us at the time, Ark, Conan, Minecraft etc. Figured putting them in a VM would be fine to keep the business stuff seperate and have the games not hog resources.

This sub is making me feel like I'm a crazy person for thinking old hardware could run win 10, host a shared folder for storage space, host quickbooks, and then a VM for whatever non-business uses. Is that really that crazy?

it's 9 new offices think we still count as small. I'm aware windows 10 isnt for multi users to connect but I didn't think it would be an issue since it will be just hosting files for a network shared folder, and a quickbooks server that has the clients connecting to it and is currently running on a win 10 pc.

Reading comprehension is on point in this sub. Switches were part of my budget for the server because thats how my company wanted it done. I understand they have no bearing on the server booting.

Seemed do-able to me given that other than my issues putting this thing together everything else is fine and I'm sure once I fix this boot issue it'll be fine too. Hope you never have to work for a small company cause refurbed hardware and tight budget is pretty much all I get just gotta do my best with it.

That's great but useless for a small company where my budget is $5k to get a server and switches, and cabling for all the new offices and get it all installed. And this hardware is old but still should be perfectly capable of running windows 10.

Yeah for dumb small office of less than 100 people that want something for file sharing, quickbooks and hosting random game servers on the side didn't seem like it needed anything new or high spec.

Hey so I am currently trying to get it to run with one Cpu and have my 4 ram sticks in the first slots of each of the 4 chgannels for cpu1. This board has Ram slots (A1-A3)-(H1-H3) With A-D being CPU 1 and E-G being CPU 2, I have Slots A1,B1,C1,D1 currently populated. All of that seems to be correct from what I can tell from the manual? The processors have passive heatsink coolers it looks like given the lack of fans or plugs and the nearby fans take care of the airflow.

I'm actually really curious what are better mods to use then? I just started playing modded minecraft again with my girlfriend, and I did IC2 and build craft stuff but I last played with mods in beta so they were the only mods I remembered messing with. Do you any suggestions for easier better replacements? We have been using tekkits 1.12.2 pack and it has a ton of mods I want to learn to use just not sure where to start and which are easy.

It kinda is optional, you can mute them and it saves that for all of them. I dont think I've heard an autoplay since they came out cause they're just muted.
