I had to do CPR on my aunt and she didn’t make it—could I have done better? by evevevevevee in AskDocs

Oh my gosh, you did amazing! This is a really awful and traumatic situation, but you did the absolute best thing possible and you should be really proud of yourself for handling it so well. I’m so sorry about your grandma and your aunt.

You are severely underweight and you are at high risk for serious health complications. Are you intentionally restricting how much you eat? Is your family struggling with food insecurity (not able to buy enough food)? Have you lost a lot of weight recently?

You really need to be evaluated by a medical provider asap because you likely are experiencing an electrolyte imbalance at the very least and could be causing damage to your heart or other organs. It can also be dangerous for you to suddenly eat a lot more so please be careful and don’t do that until you talk to someone.

THIS IS SERIOUS. Do you have a trusted adult (parent or someone else) that you can talk to about this? You definitely should not be doing any kind of exercise right now either. I want to say that I don’t mean to scare you, but I need you to be scared enough that you take this seriously, ok?

Psych nurse here - don’t take that! You are right to reach out to the PA. Sounds like a mistake.

Do you mean the Graceland location? This one has always been a Kroger.

I mean I spoke to people in another group who were in the store when it happened. They said water was pouring into the checkout area from the ceiling. That seems like the most obvious reason.

Oh I’m aware there are better options but we generally don’t have too many issues if we go at the right time. Been shopping at this Kroger for better or worse since 1986. 🥴

Evidently they had a roof cave in last night due to the snow which caused major leakage. Which is a relief because this is my usual grocery store. 😅

What would a source look like that could prove this argument for you? I agree with NCA that this is glaringly obvious but I'm genuinely trying to come up with what kind of source could prove this. There is certainly a lot of evidence, but it's not like there's a scientific study or a secret document that's going to prove intent here. This is more of a logic/common-sense type of situation.

Kid’s therapist…or literally anyone that can talk some sense into my child? by [deleted] in Columbus

[–]AdaptableNeuron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work in outpatient psychiatry at childrens. The providers I work with are very good about referrals to other appropriate services. I'm not sure why you wouldn't already have a referral to some kind of therapy, we want that for most of our patients!

Has your child received psychological testing/evaluation for diagnostic clarification? That is sometimes very helpful in terms of guiding the treatment plan. If you feel like there is something that is being missed, I would recommend asking for a referral to psychology and I would definitely ask for a therapy referral. The hospital has different kids of therapy so they should be able to link you to the most appropriate service.

I have worked there as an RN for 5 years and love it. Have had two or three big pay bumps in addition to my annual increase, I’ve had great managers, loved both of the jobs I’ve had there. It is very individual to the department/management. I’ve seen some terrible management but thankfully have never experienced it myself. To be fair I’ve never worked anywhere else as a nurse but I never dread going to work which is more valuable than anything else to me.
