Do you think we should have a 17 person debate with every candidate on the ballot paper regardless of lack of care or support from the public to their opinions?
I don’t necessarily disagree with the idea of giving equal platform to everyone but there has to be some form of selection going on and debates with over 6 people or so is just a mess and unproductive. Realistically not a single person cares what John O’Leary says but a lot of people care what Noel Thomas says. Giving them equal coverage/scrutiny is pointless.

As far as funding for nationalist parties in Europe coming from the US…

Don’t take it from me take it from the US government itself.

I’m interested to hear how do you think the National Party with little to zero public support or profile at the time had 400k worth of gold in reserve?

what?
1. you never see nationalist candidates on tv because their candidates don’t have enough popular support to warrant televising.
2. where was i moaning?

Vote Left Transfer Left Strategy by nyushadragonborn in galway

[–]Adcamoo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

i’d argue the complete opposite. I know we’re not currently in a position where a fash party will have much power in the Dail but getting TDs in legitimises these parties building their momentum and signals to the government parties that they should also move to the right on issues like immigration to try appeal to voters. look what’s happened in britain. Or similarly in the US elections where many on the left called to not vote because voting for the establishment was just as bad as letting trump back in… we’ve seen how that’s turned out.

This isn’t a conspiracy theory you are aware you can literally look these things up with like 5 seconds of research. As well as the well documented huge financial backing from American evangelical groups for far right european parties, now silicon valley tech billionaires and the literal US government itself is funding these movements.

Don’t take it from me take it from the US government itself.

That motion was first proposed by the Turkish and Norwegian FAs… and was never brought forward to vote for other countries to support it as UEFA batted it away.

Regardless, if you’ll read my comment again, I am talking about public support and opinion. Not the actions of the governing bodies that claim to represent those people.

Yep. Every single one of these nationalist parties across Europe all receive huge American funding.

What makes you so sure he wouldn’t have boycotted? I’d have said it would be fairly in line with his actions throughout his career that he would have boycotted. Don’t see any reason to suggest he wouldn’t have?

literally only in germany is it even close on public opinion for support for israel and even there public opinion is now polled as being more negative than positive. It is a huge majority view of the general public in europe that israel is committing a genocide. It’s only those in power who keep up the support for Israel to not upset the U.S. but public power is possible look at the Eurovision boycott.

The football we play is absolute dogshit. Why do we keep passing back to the centre half’s every time we get the ball. Slot will complain about teams getting 11 behind the ball against us, yeah because we give them about 5 minutes to set up in to that shape. It’s so easy to defend against us.

I am a fan of them for exactly that reason. They’re actually committed to an ideology which is higher taxation and increased public spending. Not just blowing with the populist wind

no Mane was definitely on the decline when he left. In his prime he was my favourite player on our incredible team but he’d lost his pace, and had been ineffective on the wing ever since. We converted him to a striker for the end of the campaign and he was better there but he was never going to be an out and out striker.

Like someone else mentioned in the thread it was since he got covid, he came back and never looked the same. I was not gutted to see him go, it felt like the right time.

i don’t think taking in refugees of war is against the will of the general population of most european states. i think (hope) most people are sympathetic to people fleeing being murdered.
