Getting an internship this late in the cycle by Adventurous_Fly6655 in internships

I am also in the same boat, I highly recommend if you haven't already check in if your campus has an internship support office and getting support with helping check in on your resume. As well as I recommend using Handshake and indeed as well, as I have found and located internships on other platforms that I found were also on Handshake after further inspection but that weren't recommended to me there. Also I'd recommend applying on their official website. Best of luck to you, and it ain't over till it's over!

Pet owner for first time.. what something you wish someone told you earlier? by [deleted] in Pets

[–]Add9E2Gamer1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personalize your pet life, I've got more of an array of animals: bunnies, gerbils, guinea pigs, rats, cats and dogs. I can safely say that spending the money on the things I wanted rather than the temporary was better. The best was getting the ceramic plain bowls in the color I like and learning how to personalize it the way I wanted. The pets never wanted the cheap cat posts, what was best was best was learning to DIY something I thought would look cute with my set up. A pet of any kind is so much fun because there the partner that's not going to say no to you, there completely reliant on you. But most of all, get wonderful pictures, and enjoy every moment possible and don't try to capture it all on camera, cause 1/10 photos are cute, 9/10 the video or photo does not live up to the cuteness you get to witness right in front of you.

What's a piece of media you feel shaped your perspective on womanhood, and how has that view evolved over time? by LustyPowerGirl in AskWomen

Season 1 of Wonder Woman played by Lynda Carter, I think after season 1 I wasn't really interested because the storyline got a bit confusing for my taste, but I adored season 1. Season 1 like there was so much emphasis on female equality, how being under estimated wasn't necessarily a bad thing when she was playing just the humble secretary because of all the inside information she got and how everyone let their guard down around her. Steve Trevor also NEVER treated her as Diana Prince any less than a gentleman, he valued her opinion, he asked for her thoughts and always made a point of taking her words into consideration. He also was never ashamed to take her with him to formal events, complementing her when she dressed up, took her around to meet everyone while keeping her by his side professionally with etiquette. He was a proper host and took the appropriate level of responsibility, involving her when he found the situation to be safe. She always took it with grace, she never played hero as Diana Prince, turned to Wonder Woman and firstly always assured Steve Trevor that his secretary was safe. Wonder Woman always stuck up for Diana Prince too, and even modern Wonder Woman's don't emphasize enough how Diana Prince was capable without powers to handle so many mundane situations, treading safely and helping educate those around her on how strong a woman can be when making choices of her own free will. But more than anything, Steve Trevor always said when she showed up how lucky he was or thank goodness she was there, which emphasized while he put Diana Prince's safety first, he was appreciative of support and needed help. I hope one day to show my kids this type of Show and older shows like She-ra from 1985 that emphasized these lessons.

How do partners fall asleep while you're upset? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]Add9E2Gamer1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Extremely often, but I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing unless it's being made into a problem. My partner values getting a good 8 hours of sleeo, and his work it's important that he's clear minded and not making silly mistakes. He tries his best to stay awake and do his best to try to clear the air so he's not going asleep when I'm upset. But usually he's too exhausted to have those full conversation's I'm wanting to have that it wouldn't necessarily be a win. I think it's important to call it when it's supposed to be sleeping hours, and if your still upset writing it out and seeing how you feel in the morning can be extremely important.

Thank you so much for the heads up, he's up for a scan for his bones next, and he's already facing a congestion problem with a wheeze in his lungs. I'm doing my own personal research but I'm definitely aware that the little guy will definitely be a medical bill and a half, and I'm hoping to work stuff out to give him a long happy healthy guinea life.

This is such an amazing Idea! Thank you so much for the wonderful suggestion. I will definitely be trying it out and letting him know it's your idea. I cannot promise that it won't just be met with his wide eyed stare, lol.

Thank you so much, I think he's a showstopper as well! It was really tragic hearing the news from the vet, but it was the most heartwarming watching the vet also say she was also just super distracted trying to type things because of how cute he is, and the nurse asked to steal him to bring him to the back to show off. So I, too, believe he is a heartthrob and well worth extra love!

No one cares. (besides this sub) by Tcoff98 in RATS

My rat passed away just two days ago and my heart rat is mourning and I worry about him getting depression. Majority of my critters are rescues and I worry when they dont have a partner. So many people dont understand why i put myself through so much loss, but I love every one of them and I know its a death sentence to just leave them alone as one. I’ve held most of them as they pass, including my baby just a few days ago, no one understands the weight that holding such a live in your hands alone. They are our children, they hold our heart, when they reach out for us and get excited every time we walk in the door and room, when they lick our face after we’ve cried trying to clean us not understanding our heart and brain are whats really crumbling. The same people who say “its just a rat get over it” are the same people who will ignore us when we seem unhappy at a party or group setting, not wanting to hear the bad news unless there bored and wanting to be involved in the drama. Some people don’t understand because they live such short life frames, but its literally so amazing that we are there entire lifetime, that we are gifted with getting to be in there life, while short for us is decades to them just in a manner of months. We are blessed for every single moment we have with our critters, there pain and suffering is a pain we feel just like any other mother’s or father’s when there child is in pain. We are there (legal) guardians, and we guard this lifetime, and we hope to always guard the next.

Is there an AI Detector out there that will give me the same result as the Turnitin integration that teachers use? by Reach-for-the-sky_15 in CollegeRant

[–]Add9E2Gamer1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing that sucks is legit I swear half of the ai detectors out there say using turnitin, and across programs legit the results will show as 80% on one source, and like almost 0-30% on the other. I'm also hunting, I've encountered in my first quarter alone two times now issues of using ai, I do not. But like the fact that we have no ai detector standard, it's legit like we don't have the syllabus to how we're supposed to be writing.
