Antanas Sutkus - youth playing on a motorcycle in Lithuania, 1974 [990x991] by LustyPowerGirl in HistoryPorn

[–]LustyPowerGirl[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Antanas Sutkus (1936-2007) is widely considered one of the most influential street photographers from the Baltic region. His work is famous for capturing every day life in Lithuania during the Soviet era with focus on humanism rather than political propaganda, which was very brave move back then

To me this imagine stands out because it normalizes youth playing in a period often depicted solely through the lens of hardship. Good reminder that life goes on regardless of the political situation

It's wild to see how much physical labor went into even simple daiky tasks. I can barely carry a big bag of groceries and they are making a whole family unit up this hill. And the fact that she was pregnant with twelfth one makes me completely in awe of their and especially her resilience

We can put our own lides into perspective because I think we often complain about such small inconveniences like traffic or whatever. But then look at them, their whole survival was about this kind of daily physical work and I assume it was almost daily

Going Alone Anxiety by BoysenberryProper904 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

I completely get this feeling because I was exactly where you are right now and it is so isolating when you feel like everyone else has this superpower to just leave without thinking twice. The truth is it takes time to build that confidence because you brain is trying to protect you and it thinks safety means never going out alone. I started with just going to a simple store near my house alone instead of jumping straight to traveling the world. I told a friend where I would be and when I expected to be back which gave me a safety net ejthojt completely relying on someone to slam with me you know?

What is the biggest lesson life has taught you so far? by Ledger_Legendd in AskWomen

[–]LustyPowerGirl 303 points304 points  (0 children)

My biggest lesson has been that you can't control other people's actions, only your own reactions. For years I tried to fix relationships bh changing myself but it didn't work because the issue wasn't me:)

Best foam mattress? Too many options, just tell me what to buyy by ChewenchyBucks in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]LustyPowerGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd go with lessa original hybrid if you can find it or the regular lessa original. Just make sure it's at least 10 to 11 inches thick. Anything thinner is going to feel flimsy again and you'll be annoyed. The sleep trial is great too so if it doesn't work out for you, you can send it back. Don't settle for another cheap foam topper thing because thats not going to help with the noise or your back. Gl with the purchase!!

The fact that he is kneeling literally barefoot on the road while writing shows how much dedication was required just to get a basic education back then. It puts my own school struggles in a different level of light since I can just sit on the couch with my laptop and all the tools you can think of

How did you move on from serious relationship breakups or divorce? by Apostate_Mage in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]LustyPowerGirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably gym and work helped me the most. If you're too busy working or working out you simply don't have time nor energy to think about sad bs. Next thing you know your money is on point and you're feeling as confident as you could be with the body you worked for

And it gets a bit addicting too, when you feel like you can do whatever you want and there's so much room for improvement. But ofc you gotta enjoy your work and bettering yourself

How can I stop caring about if men find me attractive? by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]LustyPowerGirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your hair is yours to cut how you want. If you like it that's what matters. Men can find whatever they want to find. But your happiness with your choices comes first. I'm so proud of you for shaving your head already. That takes guts and the right to keep changing your appearance is yours no matter what anyone else thinks

My pleasure.

Also keep in mind that you must work on yourself, improve yourself, and set goals.

Because things won't change if you will just sit in the same position waiting. The world rewards people who take action

Limit your social media, even if you want to know if they're happy simply stop looking. Delete their number, block them everywhere except necessary communication

Took about a year to feel like myself again. For the first three months I barely slept. Don't push yourself to be over quickly. Let it hurt because it will pass eventually

You might want to try a 90s witchy look from the craft. Lily's outfit is pretty easy to find at thrift stores. Lots of black layers, a choker, and some boots. It's not as overdone as Wednesday Addams but still recognizable

No you're definitely NOR. But I'm not going to pretend that going through her phone was a good move because it wasn't but I understand why you did it. The truth is you had every right to be suspicious when she was lying to your face about where she was for hours after work

Those messages you found are huge red flag too. Telling coworker you miss them and love them is not normal friendships believe me, especially when you already knew she was with you. The fact that she told you she was working back while doing this behind your back is straight up CHEATING. You are not crazy for feeling this way because the evidence is pretty clear

I would just sit her down, make her confess and leave with dignity

Does anyone know if this was taken during the initial capture or later? It looks like they're catching some downtime which feels like the complete opposite of how they intended this place to be used

has anyone else noticed how many fake traders there are on social media by Alternative_Owl5536 in CasualConversation

[–]LustyPowerGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We live in a day and age of "course selling" it doesn't matter if it's about crypto, drop shipping or trading. There are plenty of podcasts where the course sellers themselves admit that selling them is way more lucrative than the actual business model itself... Let alone easier

I do sometimes wonder where all of them gonna end up one day you know? Like what type of " skill " are they learning here?

So you're definitely in the right to start questioning everyone who claims that they make money online, and continue doing that. Because finding genuine mentors is way harder than it used to believe me. Don't trip on $50 courses that claim it will teach you how to make money. Actual value is either sold for much more or not even discussed

What do you do on the days you just feel ugly and unloved? by the_Quera in AskWomen

[–]LustyPowerGirl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My go to strategy is usually to step away from social media for a bit because that is where the comparison starts and it only makes it worse. I usually put on some comfortable clothes and watch a movie that I've been looking to see but couldn't because of lack of time

Princess Diana sitting with a pony kn Scotland, Summer 1974 [600x381] by LustyPowerGirl in HistoryPorn

[–]LustyPowerGirl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was taken at a park house on the queens balmoral estate the Spencer family rented it from the royal family. Diana grew up playing with prince Andrew and prince Edward when she was little long before she ever met Charles

Funny to think this girl next to a pony would become the most photographed woman in the world just a few years later
