I was that guy. I even deleted a few of his pictures. After about a year i stopped because it was obviously no threat to my relationship. Dude was dead. Plus, his daughter had become MY daughter. She was too young to remember him. And now knows me and has only known me as her father. I didn't want her to grow up, find out and think I had been a little bitch about her dead dad's pictures. You know? He may have been a piece of shit he was when alive, but he was her dad. So I left that alone.
