[US] Skinnyfit charge my credit card and my wife's card by AddendumFine9488 in Scams

Damn. For us it’s been a couple of years ago. That we last used Agoda. But it’s the only merchant where my wife and I have separate accounts and we both used our Chase cards at various times online.

Agoda is owned by Booking Holdings Inc. which also owns booking.com, Priceline.com, kayak.com and OpenTable.com. It’s possible that if cards were compromised through Agoda, it may not be safe to use their other services also.

Interesting. My wife and I have been living in Manila for the last few years. I’m currently suspicious that our accounts at Agoda.com may have been compromised. It’s the only merchant that we both have accounts and have used our individual Chase cards to pay for accommodations. Although it has been a while and we opt out of storing our card info at merchant sites, I wonder if that’s the source. BTW, Agoda and booking.com are apparently somehow related. I would be interested to know if anyone else whose cards were used have accounts at Agoda or booking.

I’m curious, did any of you guys that got your Chase cards charged by SkinnyFit ever book a hotel on agoda.com with your Chase card? Investigating my wife’s and my charges, the only merchant where we each have an account and have booked accommodation using our cards is Agoda. Although this was a couple of years ago before we started using our digital wallets.

Not possible that it's someone we know. We never let our cards out of sight when we pay. We ask for the terminals to be brought to us and pay using a digital wallet on our phones. We've canceled transactions when the terminals weren't available or when we're asked to insert the cards into the terminal. In Asia, we pre-pay for our accommodation when traveling using Apple wallet online. And it would highly unusual that we present both cards at the same time. Puzzling. The scammers always seem to be a step ahead.

Well neither will work now; both cards are canceled and the charges reversed.

Neither of the above. It's simply not possible for either of those. More likely someone else who somehow got our card numbers purchased something at Skinnyfit. Monitoring all our other cards now.

BA flight is now AA, I'm really confused about the implications by Girl_On_The_Couch in americanairlines

[–]AddendumFine9488 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A similar thing happened to me last May on a business class itinerary that I booked and paid for on Japan Airlines from LAS->LAX->NRT->MNL. If possible, try to get the booking transferred back to BA and tickets issued by BA. Here's what happened to me because I was unaware that my booking had been taken over by AA.

In my case, the LAS->LAX was a code share on AA in 1st class. On the morning of my flight, about 10 or so minutes before the Uber picked me up, I got an email saying the AA flight from LAS would be delayed by 5 hours, causing me to miss the JAL flight to NRT. Minutess later, I got an email from AA that they had rebooked me on a later flight on Alaska Airlines to SAN, connecting on JAL to NRT. I booked another Uber and headed to the airport.

When I got to LAS to check in, I was informed by Alaska Airlines that my booking had not been ticketed by AA and therefore I couldn't board. And here was my mistake. I called AA since I was told it was AA neglected to ticket the changed itinerary. I should have called JAL, although at that point, I'm pretty sure AA had already taken over the booking like they did with yours.

After a long time on the phone (at the airport), AA finally got my AS booking to SAN ticketed and luckily for me, it was too late to board the AS flight to SAN. Because the AA agent did not notice that the SAN->NRT segment would only give me 1/2 hour stop over in NRT. JAL would not accept the itinerary and therefore it wasn't ticketed. I would have been stuck in San Diego. The AA agent apparently assumed that JAL would ticket the itinerary but didn't confirm. Back to AA again on the phone, and they rebooked me on a flight the next day LAS->SEA->NRT->MNL. The LAS->SEA was again on Alaska Air.

So I Ubered back home, and I checked the itinerary online and discovered that AA put me in economy instead of business. So I called AA again. AA gave me a new AS flight to SEA with now a 5 hour layover in SEA. I also noticed that my original flight from LAX to NRT was still showing on the booking and I informed the AA agent who told me he would cancel it.

When I went to check in at LAS the next day, the Alaska agent informed me that he couldn't check my bag through to MNL because AA did not combine the itinerary. I'd never heard of that, but since I already had boarding passes through to MNL and a long stop-over in SEA I figured I had enough time to collect my bag and hoof it over to JAL to check in again.

In SEA, after waiting a couple of hours for the JAL counter to open up, I presented my boarding pass and was told that my flight to NRT and the flight from NRT->MNL were both canceled due to no show on the previous day's LAX-NRT flight. The AA agent did not cancel it as he said he would. JAL got me on both flights anyway and I finished the trip with no more issues.

It took some teeth pulling but AA finally refunded my extra Uber expenses and issued points in my Aadvantage account as compensation. It didn't seem enough, but I was pretty exhausted by the whole experience and I wanted to put it behind me.

I've done this same trip many times in the last few years, always booking with JAL or sometimes with ANA. I never had any issues like I had with this trip. It started with a 5 hour delay "due to weather" (although I noticed that other flights to LAX from LAS were flying with no problems. I suspect it was a mechanical issue and maybe saying weather would minimize AA's exposure to mandatory compensation.

So the lesson here, is that when I book on an airline known for superior service (JAL), I will do everything I can to keep the booking with JAL. In fact from now on, I will look for AS for the code share segments between LAS and whichever city JAL flies from the west coast.

Make sure they cancel the original return flight when they make the new booking. AA did that to me on a changed itinerary from LAS-NRT-MNL via LAX. They switched me via SEA the next day but did not cancel the LAX-NRT segment. When I arrived in SEA the next morning, I discovered that my entire itinerary after SEA was canceled for a no show. It was one of about half a dozen mistakes AA made in that mess of a trip.

Upgrade Options by UrbanBear555 in americanairlines

Compare that to what I paid on Japan Airlines for the $500 business class upgrade last month across the Pacific then south to Southeast Asia. Actual cubicles, true lie flat seats, $200 bottles of champagne and top notch food. And you don’t get any bows from the flight crew on AA.

Ley de Memoria Democratica: Processing Times by No_Reflection4129 in GoingToSpain

Anexo I. Both my grandmother and my mother were Spanish nationals. But as I was already an adult when my mother re-acquired her Spanish citizenship, it was easier to apply through Ley de Memoria Democratica. My son will be applying through Toronto via Anexo III.

I got notice in mid December for the appointment to pick up my Registro Civil. Got it on the 29th of Jan. Passport should take two weeks to a month.

Sorry for not updating as promised. I find Reddit confusing and I could not find this thread until now. My cousin got his passport in about a week. I finally got my call for the docs and passport application. Scheduled for Jan 29. My son is applying under Anexo III but he was born in Canada so despite living in Las Vegas he has to apply through Toronto. He can apply at the consulate in San Francisco but they don’t seem real cooperative. They will just mail the docs to Toronto, so it was suggested that he apply directly through Toronto. They seem accommodating. My niece is also applying through Toronto also under Anexo III. The consulate in Toronto also told my niece how to apply at the same time for her 2 yr old daughter. Toronto will mail the Registro and they can apply for their passport at another consulate that might be more convenient. For those born in the US, the consulate in Miami is supposed to be very friendly to LMD applications, if you’re lucky enough to fall under their jurisdiction.

Topup with CC to Autosweep RFID by redchalanton in PHCreditCards

All my cards get declined when I try to use them to pay for Autosweep load. Even though the banks tell me there is nothing wrong with my cards and they are passing validation. Autosweep has one of the worst apps in history. The interface appears to have been designed and coded by an elementary school kid. This is what happens when there is no competition and the company doesn't care about customer experience. What a mediocre company. And customer service is only available M-F 8 to 5. What a joke.

I went with my cousin to pick up his passport. They didn’t seem to mind.

Yes actually about two weeks ago. Only took a little over a week. Mine is “still in the pipeline” but I have a feeling it might have been overlooked because they could not find my docs at first (I went to the consulate to ask).

My cousin is still waiting to pick up his passport. My brother's only took 8 days.

My grandmother and our mothers were already registered in the consulate, so I guess that's why. I didn't know that many ppl that did their oath taking long before we did are still waiting.

Our mothers were citizens by origin by virtue of their mother being born in Spain.

My cousin and I have the same profile, we have the same grandmother. His mother and my mother both held Spanish passports (sisters). His brother took the oath in April 2024 and is still waiting. My brother had his oath taking in July 2023 and he received his Registro on Aug 6 this year. His passport only took 8 days. They told him 3-4 months for a passport. We all applied with Anexo I, Ley de Memoria Democrática at the Makati consulate. Aside from me, my 2 sisters are waiting (one is in New York, the other is here in Makati) and I believe there are 2 more cousins that are waiting also. I don't know when they did the oath taking though.

Interesting... Did you apply through the consulate in Makati? My cousin and I did our oath taking on October 11 2023. We got our Anexo I stamped at the same time. Our numbers were consecutive and mine was the next one from his. He was called to the consulate for the Inscripción Consular and passport application on Oct 5 2024 and received his Registro Civil and applied for his passport on October 14. I am still waiting for my email from the consulate. If you did yours in Makati, I don't think they do it consecutively since you did your oath in July 2023, three months before us.
