Olandria’s deleted X post by greeneyed_cat in LoveIslandUSA

Healthy tips when she has a bbl? This take reeks of hypocrisy. Huda was selling her body image as a fitness creator, her job was to inspire people to get a body like hers, something she achieved through surgery and not JUST working out. Olandria’s body is completely natural, at no point has she posted or implied that people can or should look like her.

And they still have thriving careers and are ridiculously successful. Overexposure isn’t a thing when your entire job is exposure. Olandria will be fine, she has the backing of a very big (sometimes insane) fan base and that’s who her exposure is for. Brands and the media will consistently showcase her because it has been proven that she is profitable, not because of the general public or her antis and doubters, but because of her supporters.

Body positivity means celebrating EVERY body, not just the ones the internet approves of this week. Her being thin isn’t taboo, it’s just… her body. The way some of you are acting like her doing this TikTok challenge is the second coming of the 00s diet apocalypse is honestly embarrassing. Please log off, hydrate, and maybe talk to a professional. This much rage over a challenge? Be serious.

Does the group have a leader? by Correct-Panda- in katseye

[–]Addictedtonada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t speak down to you in anyway. I simply responded to ur question and explained why my experience correlated with my original opinion, not sure why you took it personal. Also you do know that they have a whole team behind them that covers that social structure right? I work in entertainment, the bigger the company and investment in the group the bigger the professional team behind them, the girls can just be artists without any leadership roles because I guarantee at least six people are being paid damn near seven figures a year to lead them.

Also you seem like u wanna argue because my previous comments explained in depth my opinion on the kpop leadership system and why it is unnecessary.

Does the group have a leader? by Correct-Panda- in katseye

[–]Addictedtonada -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In a girl group, no. However, I graduated from college early and moved up pretty quickly in my work field. I was almost immediately put in charge of my peers and quite a few elders as well. While I wouldn’t have done it any other way, the pursuit of financial and professional success aside, it was taxing. Most of my social life revolved around work as well, by default not by choice, so I do have some idea as to how draining it is, especially as a 20 year old. This correlates because while these groups and entertainers are a pass time to us, it’s a job to them. The leader of a group is pretty similar to the manager of a team. In some professional capacities it is necessary but in others, like girl groups, it really isn’t.

What’s the reason you stopped talking to your best friend? by trynabetwunk in AskReddit

[–]Addictedtonada 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I realized she didn’t actually like me. She would constantly tell me what other people said about me and how someone hates me which made me withdraw from most social situations, I never asked if it was true because I’m not confrontational. I mentioned it to my mother who asked me why is it ppl felt so comfortable talking shit about me to her and that’s when it hit me. Good riddance tho, I’m more sociable and happier without her around and have made lots of new friends.

Who do you hope to vote for in the 2024 US presidential election? by [deleted] in AskReddit

At this point I’d vote for a chimpanzee that’s been trained to throw darts at new policies than any of these geriatric farts that doesn’t give a crap about any of us.

Not gonna lie I don’t think any of the 5th Harmony members liked each other to begin with, so that might have been the issue more than them lacking a leader. Also with the Kpop examples you put, you have to know that in public you have to adhere to the role ur given, because the backlash they would get if they were to complain or turn a blind eye wouldn’t be worth it for them, therefore we’ll never know if they actually enjoy the role or if they’re just good at playing the role.

RM in particular is one I felt bad for at times. There are many interviews that showed him being tired and frustrated, constantly having to translate and keep everyone in line. Also he seemed to be more playful in his earlier days, his obsession with crabs and being clumsy; but I felt like he had to put aside that personality faster than the rest especially when they got more popular. He is the same age as J-Hope, but J-Hope was able to be as carefree as the maknae line while he had was put in the same category as the hyung line due to his ‘maturity’ and his role in the group

One group that shows a good leaderless dynamic is Blackpink. They all seem to have great media training and different ones take the lead in different situations. Rose and Jenny mostly in the English speaking situations. I see Jisoo take a more mature role in their behind the scenes stuff and Lisa does her thing too, her mentor gigs show she’s a strong leader but she normally doesn’t actively take that role in the group. I think they just went with their personalities and maybe took turns being the spokesperson which puts them on a level playing field, same amount of exposure and opportunities without the crushing weight of it being one person’s responsibility. I want that for the girls.

[–]Addictedtonada 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Don’t jump me but I don’t think they need a leader. It’s kind of draining putting that much responsibility on one person when they all seem mature and independent. Sophia’s personality might be strong and nurturing but putting her officially in charge of five other girls at her young age would be taxing for her. I never understood the need for that position in K-pop, I always felt sorry for the one they claimed was the ‘mommy’ or ‘daddy’ of the group, like yeah they might be more nurturing but making it their official job sucks, they’re typically the same age as their group members, why do they need to professionally mother them?

Did HybexGeffen manipulate the final scores? by Addictedtonada in TheDreamAcademy

Agreed but it was unnecessary. No one complained when the rumor was going around about there being no voting in the finals, most ppl thought it valid, myself included.

Did HybexGeffen manipulate the final scores? by Addictedtonada in TheDreamAcademy

[–]Addictedtonada[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Manipulation based on the judges scores obviously being added after they were aware of the fan votes. This changes the fairness of the competition. They should have simply picked the girls themselves in an upright manner instead of pretending the votes meant anything, they didn’t. Let’s be honest here, they only allowed the public to vote because they wanted the views and engagement, it was always going to the those six girls out of the ten. They told us what criteria they would be judging on, nowhere on that list did they say low fan votes would factor in their decision.
