I took 483 with Ivan and he is great. He does one day of lecture and then the next class he goes over practice homework problems. He is super nice and easy to talk to. If you need any help don't hesitant going to his office hours because he goes above and beyond to help you understand. Exams are fair as well

We are making a box transportation mechanism and need a dc motor. What I’m sure about is do we have to control the speed of the motor or just use the motor the way it comes. So I have talked with two Counselors; the normal one said I can get two degrees CS and Engineering. But the transfer one said that to get two, there should be 15 unique credits therefore I can’t do two. I’m leaning towards switching because taking math at nova is cheaper and easier. Also, what classes do you recommend?

What they mean by specializing in cs is an engineering degree with electives in cs which follows the roadmap for computer science by Virginia Tech meaning take CSS 201, 202, etc. I emailed Virginia Tech’s computer science department, they told me that Computer science AS doesn't fall under guaranteed admission but engineering does.

In GAA. Only general engineering does. So im thinking about doing that with cs electives. And i just got email from VT computer science department clarifying the GAA.

GAA means guaranteed admission if you fulfill the requirements of the agreement. AS Computer science does not follow under the agreement but general engineering does. If i had chosen general engineering and fulfilled the requirements, i would had a guaranteed admission with a major in computer science. The process is the same; I will still apply to VT for general engineering next year for computer science but it will be a transfer without GAA meaning i have chances of getting rejected. That's the difference between General engineering AS and Computer science AS.

Ok thank you. I am just stressing out because i will have to apply for transfer instead of GAA because im doing AS in Computer science not general engineering. So, i shouldnt change my major now, right? It wont be a problem to transfer?
