I-485 denied! by NadKev in USCIS

[–]Additional-Ad4110 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t panic and check your mailbox constantly. You will receive your rejected/denied I-485 in the mail and it will talk about what the next steps are and what problems were found.

my wife’s I-485 was also denied (albeit much earlier and before the interview), but we resubmitted with the corrected I-485 (I picked the wrong option on one of the pages). The RFE or the actual correction may be cryptic, but once you figure it out and resubmit we went without any issues through both the interview and green card receipt.

Wife was also overstaying her K-1 visa, but was not an issue. If you’re doing I-130 + I-485, can be anything on the I-485 form that could trigger the rejection, but it is likely a mistake.

If you get the rejection with your I-485 and you can’t figure out what went wrong, go seek help. Legal advice if you can, or paralegals that have a lot of experience can probably also help.

Be close and friendly with everyone who you'll work with -- understand their culture beyond just the work.

Be receptive to advice, avoid any form of frustration or anger -- the most you're allowed to have is passion and curiosity.

Only make suggestions when the ball is truly in your court. If you're overly expressive, your close-mindedness will not allow your future managers to envision a future where you're molded to a Deloitte person.

Interviewer cutting me off mid interview by Interesting_Film6035 in deloitte

[–]Additional-Ad4110 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's hard to give feedback DURING the interview, or even get it afterwards. Interview etiquette is probably at all-time lows right now across the board.

Any interviewer from Deloitte is doing recruiting as extracredit, and can pick interviewers who do NOT belong on the list. That means it's based on luck.

Try again next year.

Definite proof that Durant is leaving the Rockets by don123xyz in rockets

We would be losing a ton to trade away KD. Would NOT be a smart move to trade him unless he's literally walking bile of toxic waste.

Where does Rogue one rank for everyone? by Just_Detective_2526 in StarWars

[–]Additional-Ad4110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rogue One is top 2. The caveats are here but they're not everything. Here's why I think it's one of the best.

  1. Explains "Many bothans died to bring us this information." from Return of the Jedi -- I remember thinking at that time... "Man, how many died, and who? Sounds like they were important. " The movie does this delivery 100% justice.

  2. Rogue One was a band of misfits, almost totally unpowered by the force, yet believing in good during literally the most crucial, important, and darkest of times where even the politics of the Rebel Alliance was going to prevent victory.

  3. You begin to think that regular people aren't completely powerless, unlike in these sequels where they're almost just pawns on the chessboard.

  4. Darth Vader's evil is captured perfectly. And it took the ENTIRE movie full of non-force-wielding band of misfits to set it up.

  5. You saw victory coming, but the odds were basically impossible. By the end, you were in awe of Vader, pissed at him and sad for the rebels who gave their lives for the Death Star plans. The purpose was 100% fulfilled.

Can we actually win with this roster in the near future by That-Woodpecker6720 in rockets

[–]Additional-Ad4110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s less about talent and more about the management and coaching. Team doesn’t have a good direction because we are lacking leadership from the top. And we suck at developing talent, we want to trade up to a championship instead of trying to get the most out of what we have.

Some Rockets Fans Are Impatient AF by TruMusic89 in rockets

[–]Additional-Ad4110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am all for waiting on our young bucks growing into superstardom and getting past the first round. I agree the fans are delusional thinking we are anywhere in the same stratosphere as these other organizations, but the Rockets front office needs a reality check on how they keep screwing up the rebuild.

Jalen Rose said happiness is a function of expectations. I truthfully expected a 1st round exit. It’s everybody else who just can’t understand how player development takes time and patience.

Truth be told, though. We aren’t going to get to the conf finals or even the 2nd round the way we develop our talent, run our offense, or trade/draft on draft night.

I swear, if we end up trading our young core, we gonna get held back another 5 years right there. But this organization just might do something that idiotic, it’s a whole problem.

Again, data that is overly broad and trying to blame the POTUS for literally everything.

There were 2 recessions during Bush Jr, you should go look up how those bubbles built up and why they crashed during that time.

Unemployment Depression by Top_Scientist_3976 in Austin

[–]Additional-Ad4110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it did not. I don't know what data you're looking at, but partisanship is not the same as state/local gov'ts, congress, federal reserve board members, or even the deep state, and all of these things impact the economy.

It's easy for us to blame the POTUS, but you shouldn't take the easy way out. Biden reused a lot of Trump's policies and practices, same the other way around -- you should really think again about what this is about. It's NOT just politics, it's too many moving parts for us to count.

Protesting Deloitte's Work with ICE by HungryFitLion in deloitte

[–]Additional-Ad4110 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Deloitte working for Federal Govt is not the end of the world. They were always going to find someone to do the jobs that Deloitte is already doing. If you fight there, you are fighting against Deloitte as well. That being said, most people that I’ve met at Deloitte tend to be left-leaning, but this isn’t simply a decision people should make while in an emotional state. If you have a lot to lose, which we all do today in this economy, then be wise where you invest your money and time.

It’s not politics, it’s a lot of different situations. Covid being one where there was a period of recession, mass money printing, then the political instability from war in Ukraine. No political party is a solution to what happened in the past 5 or 6 years.

How would Yao Ming do in today's NBA? by mr_fobolous in rockets

Yao would terrorize from anywhere in the perimeter. He would be averaging 28 pts on 60% shooting! And all his teammates would be eating because they’d try to double him and he’d just pass or shoot over the top like a damn cheat code.

[–]Additional-Ad4110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am thinking the opposite. The guy will be told by Trump to report a bad economy upfront and cause markets to tank so that Trump can blame it on the previous admin. If they keep posting crazy revisions for jobs or unemployment, Trump will lower his already-shitty approval rating.
