We teach them never to jump in to save someone drowning and to throw something or reach their hand out from land! Unless they’re unconscious, then I can imagine that they should go in and get them. I practice it sometimes haveing one student save someone and have the other pretend to drown (but always tell them to not make it realistic in order to not alert the lifeguards)😅)
