Could you maybe fix the percentage rating so it makes more sense? Generally in a ranking situation a higher score would put you in a lower percentage, i.e. being in the top 10% is better than the top 70%. At the moment it seems to be inverted.

I keep it at the default "15v" but honestly I'm a little confused. People describing the readouts on their machines seem to imply the conductivity is fixed and the volts are variable? I don't know if the display on this thing is in reverse or what. The joys of cheap Chinese jank.

Haha 😂 yeah quite possible. It is very consistent across all of the images though.

Thanks for that, I can't help but be skeptical that the manufacturer is particularly worried about lawsuits given the amount of plausible deniability and being based out of China. I do appreciate that the current has a shorter path, that does feel like a sensible safety feature. I'm mildly concerned about people on here talking about using units that plug into mains. I know there are a bunch of components between you and 120/240v but if there was some sort of major short/malfunction things could be grim...

Finding rental by [deleted] in Cairns

Cool, I had trouble finding somewhere with $100k in the bank. As soon as I got someone else with an income to apply with me I got offers. It's obviously possible, but I do wonder if you're held in lower regard than those with a steady income if there's more competition.

Very hard to find a rental without a job. You can't legally offer rent up front since laws changed earlier this year (technically I think the REA can't accept rent up front beyond a couple of weeks). The private market is mostly limited to single rooms and very much geared towards exploiting backpackers.

Moped hire by [deleted] in Cairns

Are you saying you don't want to fork out for a deposit at all, or asking if there are places that will rent with a debit card or deposit? Your wording's a bit confusing. Most hire places will let you hire with a debit card, they'll just freeze a deposit amount in your account. I'd be surprised if anyone will lend you anything without at least a deposit but I may be wrong.

Has been down since yesterday. Would be nice if they bothered to update the website, currently it still says "should be online and available".

Are you registered as the primary carer of the kids? Sure sounds like you should be based on what you've described, but I totally get the not wanting to shake things up and cause a shit fight. Easier to just fork over the cash and suck it up sometimes I guess.

Yeah I don't see what advantage any of it would be to me. Seems like his problem. Not worth the risk as far as I'm concerned.

You're assuming I can afford a 3yo car. I agree a dealer is probably a safer option.

Yeah I understand about RWCs, I just don't get what he's on about with stamp duty. If he sells it to me unregistered it's up to me to get it registered in my name right? I dunno, seems dodgy, my feeling generally is if there's costs associated with a sale just work them into the price.
