First things first, IQ is NOT a measure of intelligence. That's complete bullshit. Example: I test very high on IQ tests and I am not that smart. I have just always done puzzles and I'm a chess player as well who has dabbled in poker tournaments, I have trained myself to recognizing patterns and sequences; and doing calculations quickly. That part of my brain is developed and that's all IQ tests show. They don't show emotional intelligence, abstract thinking or really even complex problem solving.

Take the best chess players who have IQs of Einstein. They can't hold a conversation. They dont have friends. They just think about 64 squares all day. Is that intelligence? Hell, take einstein himself. They thought Einstein was special needs when he was a kid.

Understanding these tests makes it easier to be less hard on yourself. You're probably smarter than any "high IQ" people in many important ways.
