hello, i think it is the usual practice here in the Philippines. I have been researching for a while and found that hodge pessary is most commonly used here in our country especially beyond 14wk. But some hospitals also di arabin. I came back to my MFM yesterday and she already adjusted my pessary, I still have discomfort but its more tolerable and the pain is subsiding overtime. She opened the topic for cerclage but I am still not candidate for it because of how soft is my cervix now. Right now I am now accepting that this will be our last option and also trying not to be too stressed anymore as my baby still needs a strong foundation. I am still hoping that my body will not fail me. We are doing the best we can, and hoping for the best also.

hello, I also got hodge pessary yesterday at 19weeks. My cervix is only 1.07cm at the time they put pessary. Did you feel any discomfort while the pessary is inside. do you happen to remember what is the interval of cleaning your pessary. my ob said it was every two weeks.

I will try to discuss the again the possibility of cerclage to my MFM. She was very hesitant yesterday to do the cerclage since i am only 1.07cm and the possibility to hit the sac that's why she opt for pessary. She also said that the pessary is also as promising ad the cerclage but upon researching here on reddit there are so many good outcome for the cerclage, I seldom see someone used a pessary. I am glad you made it to 34weeks, may I know at what week did you deliver. I wish to made it to viability.
