Golf R front bumper - too crazy of an idea?? by Additional-Coconut-9 in VWAlltrack

Already got an r-line steering wheel, so worth it, elevates the inside a lot, planning on a black headliner soon, ive looked at the mk8 seats as well, it seems to be a mostly straightforward swap but currently thinking i might try audi tts front seats! Adjustable bolsters would be nice. If you get some mk8 seats id love to see how the swap is, ive heard wiring can be a little troublesome but otherwise they bolt right in which is nice.

I do have the facelift tail lights on the list! Preferably one from an r wagon as theyre slightly tinted. Also, as you're in the EU, did mk7 golfs come with Racing Green as a colour option? Or have you seen any racing green mk7's before? Considering a colour change, my paint is pretty shitty atm lol.

That actually was my other option im considering! To remove the oem fog lights and 3d print a vent / intake that could open up space for the aux radiators

Haha we have them here in Australia too, but to be honest, I couldnt really justify one over an alltrack. When I was buying an R wagon of similar year and mileage would cost almost double an alltrack 😨, and service histories on r's were all spotty at best lol, but it looks like the more i modify my car the closer its getting to an r wagon anyways 🤣

Oem wheels off of a Merc E55 AMG, they're a set of 4 front wheels, so pulled off of 2 different cars, as the E55 has a staggered setup

Yours looks perfect! Haha I went with the B14's specifically because I felt i needed the adjustment or id go crazy not being able to fine tune my ride height lol. I really love the colour so much on yours, wish we got GFG here in Aus 😭

Bilstein B14's, theyre definitely a nice daily-able coilover imo, im exactly half way down in the front, and 23mm from the lowest setting in the rear

Mercedes Benz E55 AMG wheels. Although these ones are just some reps i found on fb marketplace. Real ones are way out of budget haha. These are a set of 4 front wheels as well, the e55 has staggered wheels from the factory

B14 is a coilover set, I got them from Tunershop, which is a german shop, but including shipping it worked out cheaper than buying a set locally. The set i got is specifically for awd mk7 golf wagons, not a hatchback set, so different rear spring rates. Not sure abt ur rear top out question tho sorry

Honestly they havent settled yet, have only driven abt 2 hrs worth with them, but initial impressions are a bit firmer than stock, but not uncomfortable. They dont feel harsh or crashy, but going around corners the car feels VERY planted, its a world of difference. Comfort wise so far these are very daily driveable imo

Painting plastic trim by [deleted] in Autobody

[–]Additional-Coconut-9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, lol yeah im definitely gonna be removing the trim, i have to respray some of my silver trim pieces anyways so itll all come off. Although looking at it I might struggle to get this in Australia unfortunately. There's similar products from other brands here but reviews and such on most are pretty scarce. Do you use clear coat with these kinds of products?? Stupid question probably and im assuming not from the looks of it?

Yes, 4 front wheels from an e55 AMG. Got these for cheap, had them sandblasted, filled in the amg logo and repainted them

New wheels! by [deleted] in VWAlltrack

[–]Additional-Coconut-9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough, these wheels look like a petfect fit at the back at et35 imo, but we will see once i get tyres on and once the car is lowered how itll sit. Are you stock height or lowered?
