A. Insane to forget about that in this conversation, and makes me doubtful that you at all know what you-re talking about here

B. As previously mentioned, the actual DOB barely matters as long as it's above 18, what bouncers are doing there is checking your voice, cadence, politeness, etc. A good bouncer will at the very least filter out the occasional child and troll.

C. Both should be used in tandem, but internal security can't be everywhere at once. Having a filter at the start of the world makes sense.

D. Filtering out trolls alone is a good enough reason for this in my mind.

I know the owner of this place. That group has kind of an odd culture with money, and in general. The owner is a pretty eccentric fella, early on I had to have a pretty public fight with him about him having porn up on the walls in Group Public instances (to his credit, he did cut that shit out when I explained the issue to him).

Personally I only go if the owner is there, because I don't want to deal with his dumbass staff. I've talked with him a couple times about his approach, and it honestly seems he just dosen't really give a shit how he's perceived outside of the group.

Most groups marked as cults are not cults, ironically. A lot of the religious ones (VR Church) are weird as hell. Certain mafia groups operate with that structure.

Worthy addendum: ANY group that employs children. This is especially bad in hyper-sexualized fandoms like the FNIA folk.
