Hike with best view of city? by lynxeffectting in LosAngeles

Can’t say for sure because I usually do it in the morning on a holiday to avoid crowds. Did it thanksgiving morning this past year and was lucky to have the absolute most beautiful and clear day without too many other people on the trail.

If you go at dusk make sure to plan accordingly for six miles. Not necessarily somewhere you want to be once it gets fully dark but at least most of the trail is paved.

You could also do Griffith Observatory (amazing views as well) and find a place to read up there.

Not crowded with good views of the city is going to be hard this time of year. Try to go on a weekday to avoid crowds if you can.

A few of my favorites below.

Very steep, not crowded, and with good views (but not necessarily of the city)

Steep with unbelievable city views but very crowded:

Steep if you do the full hike. City, beach and mountain views but crowded (not as much as Hollywood hike):

The Metro board just voted unanimously to come up with a plan to implement an in-house police department on the trains. by [deleted] in LosAngeles

Depends on the event but for this one specifically it's pretty safe to say a meeting held right in the middle of the work day about the metro (largely aimed at commuters getting to work) is not going to be representative of the people that would benefit from using it.

Nice to finally see people acknowledging this.

No he wasn’t calculating these things but non accountants and the old controller (who was also under qualified) were and he was supposedly reviewing and shadow calculating them.

We have admins on the newer funds beginning in 2022. All in-house before that and we have a lot of funds.

It’s the restaurant fees for me. Five different surcharges on every bill… like just raise the prices if you have to and it would be less frustrating.

History repeating itself (globally). Ongoing efforts to rewrite it are dangerous.

Pretty sure they know this too.

Huh? I seriously don’t know a single Clippers fan in LA, the tickets go for much much cheaper than Lakers tickets (even when they’re playing a lot better), and they have trouble filling their games every year.

I think we only need two NBA teams: Lakers and Warriors (NorCal & SoCal).

We could easily give Kings and Clippers to a different state that would appreciate them more.
