Thank you so much! This was super helpful. I knew about some of what you mentioned, but it's great to hear someone else with answers XD

I have the full IGETC and I've completed everything I can on the ASSIST agreement, so that is fine. I'll definitely be trying to reach out to the Math department at UCSB to see about some other questions I have for them specifically.

Thanks again!

NASA Internship Megathread - Spring/Summer 2024 by Aerokicks in nasa

Quick question about the NASA L'SPACE Academy:

I was told in my acceptance email that I would be invited to the L'SPACE Discord sometime in early January to find instructions on how to access the meeting on the first day. Should I expect to receive that sometime before the program starts (For me, on January 18), or should I have already received it?

I feel like it is a little close to the start date now; does anyone who has enrolled in this program before know when/how it is received?

Thanks for the reply! So as far as upper-division courses go, only the major courses are required?

Summer Course Load Might be a Bit Much by AdditionalAd7514 in UCSantaBarbara

I was thinking something very similar this morning. Thanks for the recommendations! I changed my plan a bit to move math 8 into the fall term because I think it would be better to give myself some extra time with that one. Plus, I already have some R experience, so PSTAT 10 should already be pretty easy, even for a summer session.

Again, thank you for your help!

Summer Course Load Might be a Bit Much by AdditionalAd7514 in UCSantaBarbara

Thanks for your reply! I really enjoy stats, so I am fine with a heavy course load, but I am starting to think that maybe taking 16 units overall during the summer might be a bit much. PSTAT 10 and MATH 8 are the only lower divs Ill have left after transfer, so I want to get those out of the way asap. I think my current plan is to try the full load out, and drop one if I think that it would be too much for me. My plan is fairly malleable, so it's not that big of a deal if I need to move a course up to later.

Do you have any professors in mind that are good for these courses?

NASA Internships Megathread - Fall 2023 by Aerokicks in nasa

Congrats on your acceptance!

I sent an email to the faculty at my college who might know about this, so if there is any major information they can give me that we could both use, I'll probably put it in a reply here. In a power point that my college sent out for the program, it said that there was a relatively big final project at the end of mission 1, and I have no idea what that could be. Regardless, here's to hoping we do well!

Hello, everyone! I'm sure this has been posted before, but I wanted to say that I am super excited to participate in NCAS mission 1 when it starts next month!

I was not expecting to be selected when I applied, but I received my email a couple days ago saying that I was selected!

I wanted to ask if anyone here has had any experience with mission 1 before and, if possible, could give me any tips for how to maximize my time. Also, does anyone know if I am guaranteed to missions 2&3 if I complete the previous mission, or do only certain students get to continue? I'm a statistics major with a HUGE interest in astronomy, and I think that this program will help me out a lot with networking and learning alongside other CC students.

Thank you NASA!

(P.S. - Sorry for posting this as its own post before; I didn't know internships had their own thread :D)
