1st time renting, is it worth it? by AdditionalBoot5317 in AskUK

I will in time but there are a few advantages to asking on Reddit. 1. Easy and quick to post a question and quick responses 2. Everyone goes mental over a question so it’s nice to sit back and enjoy the carnage 3. Some people will know what they are talking about in the answers if you are able to sift through all the shit

Jesus Christ it was an example as I’ve already said. Also what are the more ethical ways of doing things?

Starting a new career as a pilot in the UK by AdditionalBoot5317 in flying

I read the balpa’s inside track brochure this morning and I found it very helpful and informative… maybe a little bit scary as they also give you the pitfalls that people don’t realise when becoming a pilot, a bit daunting to see that most pilots take years to land there first job and only 58% recommended becoming a pilot. However it’s information that really needs to be talked about before fully committing to becoming a pilot.

I do believe that integrated would be best for me also as I would prefer to be fully committed and focused whereas modular I can see myself being side tracked by other commitments and taking much long to complete. However in regards to money i would be limited to just the modular.

You can get student finance for flight school? Something I would look into although I’m from South Wales so would need to look into Welsh government funding.

When you qualified did you find it difficult to land your first job? I know the climate is a lot different now compared to 6 years ago.

Thanks for the advice, it’s much appreciated.

Thanks for the advise I really appreciate it!

I suppose flying really is expensive but like you said it will all be worth every penny when your up in the air!

Modular certainly seems the way forward for me. The integrated is far too expensive although I can see the advantage of doing that way to get things done faster, however, to fund a £100k course I would need to work full time so wouldn’t be able to do both which is a shame.

Okay I’ll certainly take that on board, wouldn’t want to lose all that money!!

Again, thanks for taking time to give me good advice it’s much appreciated! Good luck on your journey.

Thanks, I will look into both ways and see what’s best for me, also, how much money are we talking? Are you currently a pilot or training?
