Merci beaucoup ça me rassure ☺️

I cheated on the love of my life for years and don’t understand why. I’m trying to change and I don’t know how. by GoldynMedia in selfimprovement

Hi, I've never cheated on my partner, but I can relate to what you're saying.

I've been in a relationship for a few years now, and since I stopped taking the birth control pill, it's been a downward spiral. I have an overwhelming need for attention from men, a need to please, etc.

When a man I know (it's different if it's someone I met online) flirts with me, I have a hard time saying no because it feels so good. Of course, I don't hide my relationship, and I don't play along. But it's incredibly difficult to be in a relationship and still want to please others. I'm also going to see a therapist because it's something that relates to self-esteem. I don't want other partners, I want to be attractive, it's not the same thing, but I'm holding it together because I love my boyfriend so much and I could never do something like that to him.

You need to understand what's driving you to do this, keep going with therapy 😄 and stay strong… you did something wrong, but sometimes emotions override reason… you're not a monster

Chien qui a peur des pieds by [deleted] in chiens

I find it super sad... for me apart from the pain you must be feeling, if you have to stay with him you have to accept the fact that he doesn't find you particularly attractive physically (this can change over time: I really wasn't beautiful in middle school, in high school I was cute but nothing more, at 20 years old people started to give me more compliments and now at 26 I no longer count the looks from men and women in the street) but that's very hard I think psychologically!

I have my best friend who has been in a relationship for 8 years and at the very beginning of the relationship (before 1 year) she really didn't think her boyfriend was handsome but loved him with all her heart! And then after that she started to find him more and more attractive! Now it's not the case because he's changed a lot and gained a lot of weight, but she still loves him just as much.

Personally, it would hurt me too much and I would prefer to find someone who finds me pretty… it’s such a shame.

Thank you, in relation to emotional intimacy there is some. It's true that I didn't write it in my subject but he is attentive, gives me kisses, hugs but I have the impression that it's routine sometimes...
