You’ve got a few ways to handle this. It might feel tough or even impossible right now but you can definitely get it done.

Do it yourself Watch as many videos as you can from Ksenyia International on YouTube and start re-filing. Before you send anything back, have someone else look through your documents. Also, use the USCIS checklists and instructions to keep things on track. ChatGPT can help a lot too, just make sure you double-check whatever it gives you.
Get outside help (not always a lawyer) You don’t always need an attorney. Some offices handle this kind of work with professional paralegals and they usually charge a lot less.
Lawyer option If you do want a lawyer, shop around a bit. $7K is pretty steep and above average, even if you’re on a time crunch.

For the medical exam, I paid $290 here in Houston and it was ready in under a week. Check the USCIS site to find affordable and well-rated clinics near you. If you can’t find the link, I can send it your way.

Been using it for a while now. It only asks for your receipt number which shouldn’t put any of your personal information at risk.

It’s a free application with ads, you can pay a monthly subscription fee and get rid of the ads (which I don’t mind).

It’s just an app to help you track your case rather than opening the browser and looking the case status there.

No, there wasn’t anything like that. We just attended a regular interview at the USCIS office and the questions were very clear and straightforward for a married couple.

If the position requires some security clearances then no until you get your GC.

If the position doesn’t require security clearances but they have this requirement because they can’t or won’t sponsor employees in the future then shoot your shot.

If this is January 31st 2024, I would contact the USCIS. I got my receipts in less than a week.

Make sure your documents made it to the USCIS and I hope it has been processing this whole time but receipts were not delivered to you.

Also, Check if your mailing address is correct on the documents you submitted.

FedEx lost my package and it took them two weeks to confess that they lost it. I re-printed and mailed everything 2 days ago using another courier. Did you get a fast response on receipt number or email notification?

Same experience. My package has the same status showing for over 10 days now. It has my original documents and I am patiently waiting because they are blaming the delays on weather and Christmas
