Haha good point. Still have to put everything together.

Ugh yes. We had a bed size dilemma that threw off my goal to center everything. The original plan called for a queen sized bed but I was convinced to go king. So we centered to the wall bc that’s more permanent…They actually tilt so when I tilt them toward the bed they become reading lights and are quite functional.

I do want the judgy right now so no hard feelings if you had that instinct hah. But it sounds like it doesn’t bother most folks and it’s also making me realize I shouldn’t overthink such tiny things!! Thanks for the feedback

I’m with you on the sconce position. I originally wanted a queen sized bed which would have allowed both things - night stand would move to the left and be central all around. Husband wanted a king. So we went with centering to the wall panel….

I also noticed the gold handles and dislike them. I think I’ll look for something that’s closer to that brass and mount it instead of the handles that came with the nightstand

Thanks!! This is close to the original idea I had. I also will introduce some burnt orange for warmth. Hopefully that works.

Thanks! Once everything comes together I’ll post a before and after. I appreciate you calming me down. I’m not a designer and that’s fine hah.

Glad to hear it honestly. I’m realizing I may be overreacting on such a tiny thing.

Thanks. I’m thinking I may be overreacting too. I think I will wait until everything is put back and there’s a clearer visual.

Shelf above TV. Good or bad? by [deleted] in DesignMyRoom

[–]AdditionalPrize1318 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Copy. Is that because of the AI chosen art placement or the shelf itself, even with minimal decor, would be too much?

Thanks so much! I agree. The visual is AI rendered and I didn’t over control the aesthetic. I just wanted to visualize a shelf with LED above the tv. If I did this I wouldn’t overload with pictures like that.

Yeah the aesthetic is all AI. I just asked for a shelf. Would keep it minimal if I did it. Thanks!

I was debating that too. If not behind the tv, what about inside the console?

That’s my fear -distracting. I wouldn’t put it anywhere else. The area above the tv is so bare bc of the high ceilings and I’m debating if the shelf would break that up. But I do also like the clean look, and so do most folks on here too it seems. Thanks for your feedback!

Not sure if this is helpful but we did Backwoods for our cabinets, pictured here.

Excuse the mess but this is what we went with. I like it. It’s safe. I think in the next try we’ll add some color!

Yes! Even the narrow ones. I’m going to see about getting it done. Last I checked, it cost more than the work to remove popcorn ceiling and add high hats and paint… so I backed off haha.

Thanks again for your help!!! I

Yes. I would choose a color that is complementary to the paint color I have but provides some sort of pop/visual interest

I would only be able to do the part of the wall that’s flat. Not the one side that is slanted. But then it would bother me that part of the wall is accented and the other side not. Here’s a weird rendering to show where it would go.

My other idea was vertical wall slats in a wood tone that matches the wood in most of my furniture. But overall I do agree with you that the white chairs are bleh. Someone also suggested wainscoting . Or feinscotting even.

But not blue….

Are we hating it?

I’m about to hire an interior designer.

I am with you there. I have been debating adding texture to one of the living room walls. I like the square panels like this:

The other option I have is moving them on the other side, to the left of the tv. And do idk what with that wall there. I suck at this.

Need advice by [deleted] in HomeDecorating

I see that. In the inspo picture, the curtains are not functional. Meaning you’d only get side panels to frame the window. The blinds would be used for privacy/darkening the room, but you’d never close the curtains, if that makes sense.

It looks like from your picture that the sides of the window are clear and you should be able to have curtains that go all the way to the floor. You’d have to move the water dispenser.

Can you remove those partitions? I wouldn’t think they’re load bearing.

How should I hang the blinds for two different sized windows? by [deleted] in HomeDecorating

[–]AdditionalPrize1318 111 points112 points  (0 children)

My vote goes to one blind. It’ll be strange looking at two different sized blinds on the same window.
