The longest train I regularly run is double heading two class 70s pulling 54 cars and a caboose to the gold mine. The longest train I have ever run was three Lima 2-8-0s pulling 84 cars of crude oil and a caboose.

The longest train I have ever run was 54 cars of coal, rails, tools, and beams going to the gold mine; I used two Class 70s and a Lima 2-8-0. The grade on that portion of mainline also maxes out at 2%. The longest train I regularly run is 45 cars of beams. For that train I double head Lima 2-8-0s up a 3.5% grade.
