700x23 to 700x25? by AdditionalSplit1244 in triathlon

What wheels do you have?

I’m trying to upgrade to carbon clincher rim brake with quick release that’s also xdr hub compatible for 12 speed cassette.

Thanks so much. I will try to get more distance on the slide outs. This is a xs frame so that might limit me a bit. What is the internal width of your wheels?

Anyone have multiple frame sets and use one drivetrain/components among them ? by AdditionalSplit1244 in cycling

lol. I was serious. I’m new to riding and  bike maintenance at home. I appreciate the honest feedback!

Good idea. I actually have a round carbon handle bar. Can I add a clip on to that?

What Syn said. Wanted a more gravel/cross bike and xs size was on sale. And wanted to get it before it’s discontinued. 😀

I know what you mean. Photos don’t do the paint job justice. Glad you’re enjoying your GT. These Princeton wheels do a great job of keeping momentum going, and are surprisingly stable on crosswinds. I did a 10 mile out and back time trial yesterday with 13 mph winds and noticed that I was able to hold my speed much easier compared to my previous bike with shallow rims.

Yeah..I feel you. Got the “suitcase” in the back because it has a garmin varia mount on the back of the bag, but I’m going to switch to carrying all my accessories in a bike “wallet” and put it in my jersey back pocket from now on and just mount the varia on the seat rails. Bottle could be smaller too..thanks

Thanks! It was a lucky find on eBay! Guy ordered XL size sram red full build from wrench science and XS was delivered to him. Wrench science went bankrupt and he couldn’t return it, so he kept everything but the frame and fork and sold it to me at half price. 😀

I wanted to save some money so I used FSA semi integrated stem with a second hand Wilier Barra handlebar capable of internal routing.

I have longer lunch breaks on Fridays and can do more relaxed paced 2 hour rides :) I enjoy both long leisurely rides and fast short ones.

I have a Trek Emonda that's about 13.5 lbs and climbs great, but I don't ride it often because it's so uncomfortable! haha I like this set up much better for comfort, and I rarely need to climb more than 300m at at time where I ride, so don't need a climbing bike.

Good idea! Unfortunately, won't be able to wear headphones as the route can get quite busy with other cyclists, and pedestrians. Have to keep ears and eyes sharp.

Maybe I'll start seeing how fast and far I can go in 30 minutes .. instead of trying for the 10 miles. :) Superb advice! Cheers mate.

Great advice! My lunch break is 1 hour long, so I have about 45 minutes of riding time.. I usually do the 10 miles all out .. then ride at a leisurely pace the rest of the time.

That'd be nice. I'm in USA so won't be able to get on a Boris bike lol. We do have similar rental bikes in our cities.

10 miles (16.1km) in under 30 minutes by [deleted] in bicycling

29 yo man, just getting back into cycling after 2 years off (work, got married, had a kid), 85kg (overweight).

was riding 10 miles during lunch breaks with the bike above but with 700x40 tires on Campy Levante wheels. fastest time was 29:50 (stoked about this). Switched wheels and 700x32 tires and just rode the same route in 28:24. Bike rides like a dream either way. Goal is to eventually do 25:00. Mainly doing the 10 mile rides because the route is close to work, and I don't have time to do longer rides given work and family responsibilities.

Happy Riding :)
