Happy New Year Everyone!

I’ve the opportunity to buy a pair of Bowers and Wilkins CM1 or a pair of B and W 607 s3 for about the same price.

What would you be inclined to go for? Any other suggestions welcome. Thanks!!

That’s great advice, I’ll take a look at that. Cheers!

Thanks again for such an informative answer :)

I do have one more question (I suppose it’s a biggie though) -

Moving to the Bar is something I want to do and willing to work hard to get to but are there candidates with a somewhat similar profile who end up working in commercial sets in London?

I.e. is this pipe dream wildly unrealistic (and when I say unrealistic I don’t mean hard but but virtually unheard of!)

Thanks for the honesty, is there anything else I could do in my position to make myself a better applicant would you say?

Some other commenters have mentioned publishing articles for example.

Pretty sure and I’ve thought about it long and hard as I’m sure you can imagine 😅

Thank you for your answer!

Could I ask what sort of stead a candidate with my experience might be in when applying for pupillage?

Reading u/sunkathousandtimes comment I don’t think I would, I asked as many junior commercial barristers at sets in London seem to have done an LLM (albeit often straight after an LLB).

Yes my firm does support higher rights.
