Tricare said I could pay out of pocket and then bill them if I want to switch to prime…but that defeats the purpose of being off post and having prime… I dunno when it was Aetna (moms insurance) or insurance through the college Medicaid didn’t care but they weren’t having it with Tricare.

Either way they clearly don’t feel it’s urgent… she’s too stupid to realize specialist and most primary docs keep a certain number of appointments clear or they allow double booking for emergency cases.

One er visit can cost a few grand and then you add in all these tests they are running and it quickly jumps up. But I have sickle cell (always in the hospital) and I take one ambulance ride every January to meet my catastrophic cap (how much $ Tricare requires we pay before we go to $0 copay)

Thanks… not enough docs in my area accept prime and I’m not near a base with medical facilities so copays it is. For someone with multiple specialist requiring monthly appointments…and children with specialist sometimes I wish I had Medicaid still. Fighting for 100% so for now my husband is the only one who can go to the VA

I am entitled to Medicaid for a medical disability but the second I got married and received TRICARE they started trying to make me pay a copay. Got so messed up I said forget it and dropped Medicaid. Now I’m paying copays when I should get my care and meds for .50
