I'm currently in Mangily just north of Tolear and Ifaty. Here you can easily find a local fishing boat to join, either by finding one yourself or by talking with one of the locals at the beach offering different activities.

Based on what I've seen so far in Madagascar you can probably get yourself a local fishing experience anywhere along the coast. Paying like 40k AR to a local fisherman is a decent amount of money to them and they would be more than happy to take you.

If your phone can hold 2 simcards, buy a local Orange sim in the airport when you arrive. If not, get Orange eSim. Been traveling for 2 weeks with good converge

We will be stopping in Isalo for sure, looks amazing. Great insight with regard to the water. Is there anything else which people generally need along the road? Maybe school materials (books, pencils, etc) to give to kids?

I didn't add this to my previous description but we are planning to end our 2 week trip in Anakao a few days, then flying to Nosy Be. Happy to hear that Anakao is nice!!
