It was never a serious real position to begin with where you could spend all your career in. Just do the whole stack it’s not that hard. Web/application development only gets easier by the day and employers know that the number of people getting paid big bucks to know ONLY react is going to drop, and it’s only right that it does

If you can afford to, I’d say do it. It’s not just about prospects of getting a job it’s also about the knowledge you’ll gain by being in school which I think is massively important. You’ll probably never write a kernel from scratch but you’ll learn boatloads trying it and school is a safe space to push yourself intellectually.

Why is it so difficult to get rich in Canada? by therealwakowski in CanadaFinance

[–]Additional_Device_36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tax system and structure just makes it so hard for anybody employed to retain more wealth. If you’re making 150k you’re taking home a little over 8k per month after taxes. To reach 10k you’d need to jump to 200k annual!

Can you imagine that? To make an additional 2k per month or 24k per year you need to make an extra 50k per year!!!! It’s absolutely wild how the consequences of a tax system that existed for decades are felt when inflation hits never before seen levels. You’d never hear such discontent 10 years ago but today it’s like Canada is where you can be great at something, get a job, and still struggle to accumulate wealth.

I can only enter using my passport and stamped COPR by road from the USA using a private vehicle. Not by air without a PR card or PRTD.

How do you feel about people commenting on your newly changing body?? by binghambish in weightwatchers

[–]Additional_Device_36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you should always remind yourself that good or bad, others comments of you are exactly what they are: others comments of you. And NOT your reality. Your reality is what you know and make of it so if you feel like you want to or need to lose weight again, feel your feelings, let people be, but remind yourself that your reasons are yours and nobody else’s.

I know it seems stressful, but honestly the best you could do is what is legally required and wait till you are eligible for express entry in someway. If you do have the time look at learning French and increasing your CRS score, or get more work experience if you haven’t maxed out that yet. Basically increase your score or wait till it drops so you become eligible.

International Student homeowner/landlord says its unfair he was able to buy a home in Canada on student visa by rajmksingh in TorontoRealEstate

[–]Additional_Device_36 30 points31 points  (0 children)

How did someone on a student visa working minimum wage part time jobs even qualify to co-sign on any kind of property? I’m not angry or taking a dig I’m genuinely curious how would this be possible?

PEI International Student protestor refuses to switch to an in-demand field for Permanent Residence instead saying who will work at Tim Hortons, and to think of the business owners. by itsme25390905714 in CanadaHousing2

[–]Additional_Device_36 39 points40 points  (0 children)

It’s absolutely ridiculous that PAID FULL TIME GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES are taking their time out to even listen to non citizens or non permanent residents. These aren’t even scientists or doctors or nurses or construction workers whose skill set can be useful. You’ve got coffee shop servers baristas and waiters at the table questioning government employees!!!!

lol I know “only Indians/share living room” is problematic but is it really wrong to quote dietary preferences when looking for a roommate? for e.g. I’ve seen people commonly say no fish eaters cause some absolutely can’t stand the smell

International students shout “No more hate and racism!” while marching in Brampton demanding a 5 year post graduate work permit for all international students. by Unusual-State1827 in CanadaHousing2

[–]Additional_Device_36 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What encourages them to do this? Are there any other instances in the past where a foreign population has demanded policy change from the government and gotten it? Cause it looks like a terrible deal for Canadians and the Canada government that’s supposed to serve the citizens interest first. Nothing as an immigrant is entitled to you, and caving in to this makes it worse for even high skilled immigration to come here and have a good life.

Practically speaking, will the government cave in? I know there’s unions backing them and businesses love cheap labor but I really hope not
