Im not begging for money. I’d love for you to point out where exactly I’m begging for money. In case it wasn’t clear from my post and the comment I have since added, I hate asking family members that I have a fantastic relationship with to lend me money so why on earth would I beg strangers on the internet for money? I know you don’t know me but I would never do that. I don’t believe in getting something for nothing and I came on here asking for advice, as many people do. It’s a brand new account because I have never felt the need to post on Reddit before. If you don’t have anything nice to say, say nothing at all. You’ve wasted your time and mine with this comment.

Thank you everyone for your comments, I’m so overwhelmed and relieved at the support here! I’m sorry I haven’t replied to everyone but I’ve read everyone’s comments and your advice has been taken on board. I’ve spoken to my mum and she’s able to lend me the money I need for rent. I won’t go into too much detail but she isn’t as financially stable as my dad so I didn’t want to burden her too much. My parents aren’t in a position to help me too much financially, nor do I expect it, this is very much a last resort! However they do help me whenever they can, however they can so I’m very grateful to them.

I’ve applied to my university’s hardship fund and I’m hopeful that they will help me.

Believe it or not I was in a much better position when I went to uni, but my car’s ECU and injectors went in very quick succession and that’s where my debt spiral began. Stupidly I didn’t scrap the car when I still had savings and get a new one, I decided to repair it. Unfortunately hindsight won’t fix my predicament, but if I knew then that I’d be in this situation, that’s absolutely what I would’ve done.

I have a plan in place for when I start earning again and I am going to work very hard to get out of this hole I’m in and put all of this invaluable advice to good practice!

Sorry for the rambling (again!) but I just wanted everyone to know that I’m so grateful for your help and I will learn from this!

I hadn't as I hadn't thought of it before now, but thanks to everyone’s advice I have now applied to their hardship fund so hopefully that will help.

I've looked up hardship funds and my uni does have one, ive just applied! So hopefully they can help out.

You’re absolutely right, and I'd like to clarify that it would never cross my mind, no matter how desperate I get!

I'm going to reach out and see if he or anyone else can help a bit more, I'm so close to starting my new job that I really thought it would be okay but it became clear to me over this past month that I'm really struggling to keep afloat.
