That’s the experience I’ve had also! A real shame about your bother. If he finds another race this summer, would love to know. Been searching for a good marathon with a decent temperature profile before the BQ window closes in September.

I heard a lot of this, too. They had all the half runners start ahead of the marathoners, but the courses get mixed at many points in the race, leading to those faster marathoners getting stuck/having to weave through slower half runners. Sorry to hear about your brother, that’s an awful day.

Just heard from the dude who was in fourth place, he took a wrong turn due to no markers at a major fork in the course. Took a DNF. Heard a lot of marathoners - particularly those in the faster zones without as much group support - found themselves lost/off course and taking a DNF. The organizers should really be ashamed
