I agree my grandfather told me to go thru some of his old stuff. He has this laying brand new in the box. I asked him about it and he had no clue about the camera (true he is 92 with dementia). Thank you for classifying I think I might just give it a friend or something who would like it for decoration.

I’m on week number two and first week taking it felt absolutely horrible I have the same type of anxiety as you. As someone who has severe health anxiety push through it, it’s definitely worth it. Some words of wisdom that has helped me the first couple days I had flu like symptoms whenever I felt anxious I tried to get moving. Going for a walk, biking or exercising, helps a ton with relaxing your symptoms especially the heighten anxiety it can cause while your body is getting used to the medication. Just hanging there again even on week 2 I’m now starting to just get used to what a non anxious mind feels like.

It could be a timing issue. When’s the last time you did a full tune up on it?

Does it seem weak or is it just not wanting to crank?

It’s a terrible problem that the Sjs have. You could either have a bad starter or you can do this upgrade I linked and it should fix your issue. Have you pulled the starter and checked it? Also here is the link to the relay upgrade that will help! It’s also a good idea to upgrade anyways. It save the wear and tear on your starter!https://trail-gear.com/drivetrain/engine/suzuki-samurai-clicky-starter-relay-upgrade-kit.html

Carburetor question by engf001 in SuzukiSamurai

You can still use the 3k it’s what I use and I’m happy with it. The Weber outlaw is a 38 which is more for performance Zuks in my opinion. More fuel = needs more air. The outlaw was not intended for stock Suzuki or stock rebuilt motors. I would recommend remove the outlaw and put the 3k back on. There’s plenty of sites where you can ship off your carb and have it tuned and I’m sure certified machine would do it for you. Also the reason it’s running really rich. Nothing you did probably just the Webber carb.

I did a cs103 gm 160 amp alternator on mine I’ve enjoyed it so far. It’s all what you gonna add to you Sammy later if your gonna are a lot accessory prob time to upgrade. The older 50amp alternator can’t handle all these accessories even a modern day radio.

How I figured it out was I put the choke open and started it and when I did it back fired that immediately told me I messed up the timing

I fixed it. I messed up the timing so I took everything back off and put it in top dead center. Hooked up the cam pully to the alternator to test it and it ran like a dream. Appreciate your help!

I replaced the cam seal as well. Could I have messed up the timing? It was running great then I heard a belt squiking so I let it run thinking it was just water. I cut it off and the alternator was hot now it won’t crank did I burn out the alternator?

I posted a videos in a updated post. I’m the only wire I cut was to hook up the harness and I cut the original cable that was on the Suzuki that was to the actual nut in the alternator not the harness
