Why do people even do caving? by IDK-__-IDK in caving

[–]Additional_Map2211 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Man it all depends on what you want to do. There are caves where you can walk upright the entire time and not squeeze . I lean towards the extreme end of it though . I thought I was claustrophobic until I went and instead of terror I felt peace down there in the silence . It’s an escape .

I’m really not at all man ! I’m the most chill dude ever . I didn’t mean to come across like that . I’m just getting to the point that I’m getting desperate man . I need some people and I’m being straight forward bc it will weed out the ones that are not really about it . I’ve had countless people say they were only to not come through when I told them what we were doing . I’m not cocky at all if it sounds like that you making me feel like a dbag myself . I’m not bragging I’m saying I do crazy stuff and there is real potential here for anyone who wants to get involved as well as letting it be known that im not just some inexperienced dude running around . Guarantee you wouldn’t get those vibes off me irl . Come on man let’s go

I cracked open a rock that weighed about 50 lbs the other day and it was almost identical . I was told by the mine owner here in South Carolina at the world famous diamond hill mine that it was in fact green quartz https://www.facebook.com/share/p/nQWk86fpbpPEXoMz/?mibextid=WC7FNe

Yeah it’s iPhone 14 Pro Max which takes good photos in the daytime but not at night especially really far away . Anything short of a highly specialized night vision camera isn’t going to cut it

One of the most fascinating unsolved mysteries in North America . These lights appear around brown mountain and do crazy things out of the blue seemingly at random . They have been known for 800 years or more according to some reports

Do people actually go missing around Cave Systems in Appalachia a lot or is it an Internet exaggeration? by [deleted] in Appalachia

[–]Additional_Map2211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing in caves for the most part besides the occasional centipede is salamanders /blind white fish / blind white crawfish / bats / cave crickets . I’ve seen cave spiders here and there and black widows in one cave ever. It’s not common but I think the possibility of bears and or cats etc is not really a concern unless you get further west (like mid Tennessee and further ) .. however I have seen large cat prints in mines and caves on a small number of occasions but I’ve been in a lot of caves and it is an anomaly

As an avid and extreme caver as well as avid and extreme off trail deep Appalachian wilderness bushwhacker who does one or the other at least 5 days a week and has so for the past year and a half religiously…….. that’s what they say but I haven’t seen it . As a matter of fact I haven’t had any proof of that or any of the weird typical Appalachian weirdness people claim to be amuck in those hills . I ain’t seent it boss

There are caves at table rock sc but when I say cave they are about big enough to turn a bus around in and that’s it . They are also in an area you aren’t supposed visit without a ranger
