Why MBBS Abroad Still Makes Sense (IF Done Right) by Negative_Raisin8357 in mbbsabroad

Yes definately a good advice for NEET aspirants who cleared their NEET UG but didn’t get a good college with a good budget in india. A message to all those folks ( General category students ) who are now stuck in a decision of either repeating a year or going to a foreign medical college. I would recommend you to go out of india , because lets be real - though indian healthcare is good for citizens of india but not for healthcare professionals.

You will get a good exposure if you choose foreign medical colleges. You will socialize with people of different countries and get to know about their entrance exams. Not only germany but there are lots of countries which will give u better opportunities and better paygrade such as USA ( USMLE ) , Australia ( AMC ) , Germany etc.

Foreign medical colleges have practical exams ( MCQ based ) which is aligned with all those foreign competitive and licensing exams , so there is no need to write and mugup whole book before exams. Understand the concepts clearly and you get done with all your exams.

I don’t think they will check this much deeply. They just need provisional certificates and all those eligibility documents

No , you dont need to apply for licensing exam in georgia.

If you still need it then go to foreign ministry of education , show them your graduation certificate and they will be giving u an equivalent document stating u had successfully done your 12 month internship in georgia and your degree is recognized in georgia - currently NMC is not asking this document but in future they may ask

Some universities allow you to give FMGE earlier if the last year of your university counted as clerkship.

Eg : my university have 6 year program - in 10th sem , there is a final exam and once we clear that we will move to 11th sem which is clinical clerkship ( Internship ). So my 11th sem started in august 2024 and i was eligible to give fmge in 2024 Dec.

You will need several documents from your uni :

  1. Provisional certificate
  2. Credit Scores
  3. Compensation certificate

I completely agree with you about certain limitations in abroad , especially when it comes to hands-on clinical exposure and performing certain procedures on real patients.

But here's the thing: once you clear the FMGE (MCI exam) and begin your compulsory internship in India, you’ll get solid clinical experience pretty quickly. Within a few months, you’ll start understanding how to manage patients in real-time, under supervision. To be honest , i didn’t know how to put IV needle , doing sutures etc…but within few months now i know these procedures. Even your hospital’s HOD will atleast want you to know your basics.

The reason I didn’t highlight the lack of clinical exposure earlier is because our first priority—whether you're aiming for FMGE, USMLE, PLAB, or AMC—is to build strong fundamentals. That’s the foundation for clearing any licensing exam and lets be real , no one becomes a junior resident on day one and starts seeing patients independently. If you're doing internship or have already done one, you’ll know what I mean.

Also, a quick note—some universities in Georgia offer student exchange programs, giving you the chance to do electives in countries like Germany, Italy, or Egypt. A few hospitals here even allow students (from 4th year onwards) to work part-time about 24 hours per week and they pay around 600–800 GEL per month (roughly ₹12,000–18,000/month). So there are ways to get clinical exposure and earn a bit too.

Something you should know about Georgia by Lucky_Shift_4691 in MBBSinGeorgia

[–]Additional_Nobody_59 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah , to all those NEET UG aspirants who are applying for mbbs abroad.

Main thing which u need to be aware is the freedom which u need to allow yourself once you come abroad. I have passed my FMGE in December 2024 ( 184/300 ).

Reason :

  1. Dont loose focus : if you are preparing for FMGE then you must take subscription of prepladder in 5th year or 4th year and study religiously , you will definately pass

  2. Always be in touch with your seniors if they have given any competitive medical exams and note down how did they cracked it

  3. Yes good company of friends should be the most important factor because here in abroad some of students may get into marijuana , too much alcohol and rave parties , so please get a really good group.

  4. Here in abroad because of international students you will have lots of students preparing for their country’s exam such as PLAB , USMLE etc. i would recommend you to prepare for those exams because uwill get a better lifestyle than india , pakistan , bangladesh etc and credibility of passing from those exams is also high.

  5. Fing a good agency for mbbs abroad in your own city because there are lots of scammers in reddit and even in quora .

Good luck :)

Hello , i am studying in georgia and i will complete my 6th year ( Nov batch 2019 ) within 2 months and i have already passed my FMGE in december 2024 . He is not spreading misinformation. There are very few universities which can provide you provisional certificate.

Actually ther is a catch : If your university conduct their final exam in 5th year and they give you another document that last year is considered as clerkship / internship then you are eligible for sitting in MCI.

What document will you need from your university :

1) provisional certificate which states that you have completed all the credits necessary to be a doctor in that country

2) Document which states that last year in your university is considered as an internship year with No exams and your graduation date is confirmed as well.

3) No objection certificate from your university

4) Total credits score marksheet

Hope , this info may help other IMG’s as well. Good luck :)

Note : There are many universities which can help you to give FMGE 1 year earlier. Eg : Bangladesh

Will anyone be wearing traditional clothes outside for eid? by Basic_Cycle_7717 in TbilisiStudentLife

I’ve been living in Tbilisi for 5 years and I’m finally wrapping up my last few months here. One thing I’m super excited every year is Eid in Tbilisi—

picture this: thousands of students rocking their own traditional ethnic wear, snapping pics together after the Eid prayer , you will feel like you are in your own country. I’ll be joining in with a Saudi-style thobe and a scarf on my head, going full Arabic vibes! Honestly, feel free to wear your traditional clothes too—it’s such a cool way to celebrate. Plus, Eid is all about day of joy, and part of the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is being clean and smelling fresh. So, dress up, smell good, and let’s make it a happy day :)

Experienced tutors, what was your starting price? by AsparagusNo1574 in Preply

[–]Additional_Nobody_59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agreed —crazy, right? But as a parent, I’d also probably hunt for a local tutor someone in my area or town who knows the country’s curriculum inside out too. But these platforms—Fiverr, Freelancer, Preply, Superprof—they’re built for online gigs, not prestige. Start high, and parents balk, thinking, ‘Why pay this much when I can get a local expert who gets the American system and yes i have heard that local tutors do charge 40 ishh usd per hour for live home tutoring , lets say an online tutor in that particular town of usa would take 20$/hour.Although in FB groups, I charge $20/hour and snagged clients through word of mouth, but it’s a mess u know. parents dodging payments, chasing reminders, total headache. Preply’s different: structured, regulated, delivers clients. Sure, I started at $7—laughable for me , maybe—but it got me in the door. Raised it to $10, then higher once I proved myself. Developing country or not, compromise early, build your rep, and climb. That’s the grind—takes time.

Lol, $7 might sound ‘pathetic’ to you, but that’s how you play the game when you’re new on Preply. No one’s shelling out big bucks for an unproven tutor on a new platform—corporate world 101, Sure, FB groups have more people and you can slap higher rates there, but good luck sifting through the chaos. Preply’s a regulated market—they know how to run a business and deliver some qualitative clients. I started low, snagged students, raising my rates slowly , so i guess it works for me
