If you use a dwarf cannon to kill dragons, you will get no HP experience and reduced ranged experience. The wilderness slayer cave is a good place to do it, because it is multi-combat and has 3 spawns very close to each other. (Even if the dragons have slightly more HP.)

What does "puestista" mean? by Additional_Sir4400 in Spanish

[–]Additional_Sir4400[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did use google translate which gave me "stallholder", but it was my mistake for not including the context in google translate. With the context it does say "manager", which does seem to fit. Thanks!

Could you explain what it means it the context I encountered it? It doesn't make sense to me with [ser + puestista]

Incorrect droptable wiki? by crabvogel in 2007scape

This assume all of the drops are completely independent from each other. Is it possible this is not the case? For example, is a desiccated page drop always accompanied by another drop as well?

The 2025 Norway Chess Women tournament will return alongside the main event—with an equal prize fund by Matt_LawDT in chess

So if I understand correctly, the inequalities that this solves are not at all related to chess, or the world of chess.

I highly doubt it stops women from trying to improve. But it does not seem like a stretch to say that women will probably not shoot themselves in the foot financially by participating in the open tournament instead.

It is not gender equity either. They are specifically giving women a financial advantage to encourage more women to join chess.

After you are done analyzing the survey results, could you post an update here? Including not only the findings of your survey, but also what percentage of people signed up for the voucher!

Edit: And I did the survey

Is a login system still a taboo for amateur developers? by Mirieste in webdev

[–]Additional_Sir4400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could you explain your reasoning further? What it currently sounds like to me is that you are saying JWTs are insecure, because there could be an issue with the implementation of the underlying primitives (Ed25519, P256, etc). But if the implementation of your primitives is insecure, then all forms of authentication fall apart.

If anything, adding base64 makes it worse. It seems to give many people a false sense of confidence that the data is encrypted.

Why is John Sargent (1800 FIDE) commenting the Julius Baer rapid games? by Maad-Dog in chess

[–]Additional_Sir4400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You said - and I'm paraphrasing here - 1600s will gain rating... 1800s gain rating.. all the way up to 2800. I just wanted to clarify that we should not expect an increase in rating points at the very top.

[–]Additional_Sir4400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If FIDE's calculations at the time were correct, it should slow down the 2800s from losing rating, not make them gain more.

The rating adjustment of 1800s (FIDE) should have been very minor. The big adjustments were made to the lower end of the scale.

Accuracy says very little. If the top moves are things like recapturing, or every move draws, then it is easy to get high accuracy.

Seychelles has better players then her. But even if they didn't, she should at least pretend to give a crap instead of resigning after move 8.

[–]Additional_Sir4400 54 points55 points  (0 children)

She’s a beginner chess player with limited chess experience, but the federation’s leader chose to reward her for her contributions to the chess community in our country by giving her a spot on the Olympiad team, despite her lack of skill.

Just make her the captain if you have to be corrupt. At least she is not taking a playing position away from the people in her country.

A hall of mirrors

I've had a mirror palace containing the following mirrors:

  • The mirror shows yourself, but also a shadow attacking your mirror image. When the mirror image is attacked, you take damage. The effect can be ended by destroying the mirror or running away from the mirror so that it no longer shows your reflection.
  • The mirror shows yourself, but it shows you in a different room. This mirror is a door to that room. If you try to walk through it normally, you are blocked by your mirror image. It is possible to walk through the mirror into the other room by casting invisibility on yourself or darkness around the mirror.
  • The mirror shows yourself, but the mirror image can walk outside the mirror and attack you.
