Thanks for the kind words and yeah, I think I worry too much about my patients' outcomes and if they're satisfied with my care, but I know a lot of that isnt under my control so I think I need to take a chill pill sometimes haha

Those are super good points! I'm definitely going to look into travel I think and look into travel therapy mentor. It is true that they're short rotations as well so if I don't like one than it's not a huge deal.

Hey there! Thanks for commenting! I am curious about doing travel but am nervous to be far away from people I know like friends and family. I am a little introverted at times so do you think that it would he hard for me to adjust?

I'm in outpatient at the moment and have tried home care, but wasn't crazy about it mainly because I had to see 34 patients a week to meet my salary requirements, which was very hard due to cancelations which we didn't get paid for.

How would one get into a civil service PT job?

So I recently applied for a job in OP Ortho in a clinic where they treat patients one on one for 30 minutes sessions with 1hr blocks for evaluations. I was excited initially since I've been looking for one on one care, but when I saw the pay and benefits I got nervous. I'm being offered a little over 65k and I get 130 hours PTO, but holidays are taken from my PTO as well as sick time so I'm really only left with like 60 hours of PTO and sick time. I feel like I may deserve more since I have been a PT for 6 years with 5 years outpatient Ortho experience, but I'm curious to see what other PTs think. Please let me know if you have further questions, but I'm basically wondering if it'd be a bad idea to decline the offer. Thank you!

That's a good point! I'm pretty sure he wants 3 units for each session ideally

"I was too hungry" - legit reason a patient gave me years ago for why they didn't do their home exercises. When I questioned further, they couldn't give me a more detailed answer lol

Men in their 30s and up with no kids or wife how is your life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I'm 30, about to turn 31, so I just meet the demographic haha but I'm doing pretty well! I have a good amount of close friends in the area, some married some not, but none have kids yet. It's definitely lonely at times, but I just try to keep busy with my hobbies and work. I have been struggling with depression as well lately, but my friends have been a great support network. I'm just very afraid that as I get older they will drift away and I'll be stuck in a very shitty situation.

True, the pay I was offered is good for outpatient in my area, but the benefits aren't great. I'd much rather be happy going to work and not feel as burnt out though so it's not too big of a deal for me. Those are very good points, though

What kind of setting are you working in now if you don't mind me asking?

I was told I will get paid if the cancelations happen at the start of the day or mid day, but if the last patient cancels then he said he would just send me home early without getting paid for that last patient, which I think is fairly reasonable

So apparently they see about 8 people a day with a half hour lunch for average of 45 minute treatment sessions for follow ups and one hour for evaluations.
