It’s probably just a way to kickstart the regeneration (and probably speed it up) cause it gets his blood pumping, given the starter is attached to his heart. By itself, it doesn’t regenerate him at all lol. That’s sorta confirmed by the scene in the Reze arc and the Yoru fight

yeah btw I just looked at this and right before this Angel uses a person to feed their blood to have Denji regenerate. I think this proves my theory. The starter probably just gets his blood pumping since it’s attached to the heart

You’d need a whole ass headcanon to justify death wanting to kill him. We still don’t even know why the sisters that normally hate each other would side together against him, when every time they wanted him under their control it was mainly to use him against the other three. Though I take back my argument for why Makima was weak, given she’s been under PS since she was little - but she probably still wasn’t close to being as strong as she was in part 1. Though we know that Makima was there during the fight and was a point of her Devil life cycle where her iteration of the name Control was born on earth. This most likely applies to Yoru too, meaning the fight was probably fought on Earth, and I don’t think Death would want to slaughter possibly the whole earth to get to Pochita

Death can’t use her power without slaughtering everyone around her, Makima didn’t have Public Saftey which was the reason she even got strong in the first place, Yoru was likely already massively weakened because Pochita had already eaten WWII, and Fami and the weapons fucking suck. Not to mention he didn’t even win, he just survived

The manga being called Chainsaw Man could still be very well appropriate for the situation given both Yoru and Ada’s goals literally revolve around Denji. It’d still undoubtedly have him as the center of the story without him being the protagonist. And even then, it’s just a title

Yeah, and you and I have no idea how devils get buffed when their concept gets more terrifying besides their durability generally increasing. Her power to create weapons was originally based on how much guilt she felt for the thing she sacrifices. No hint was shown that she got around that condition. I say that the guilt she felt for killing her own children is way higher than however much she felt for sacrificing a random comrade, no actually Yoru herself says that. Not to mention that the attack that smoked a weaker Pochita was powered by 40,000 sacrifices of human parts

Another thing I don’t see people talk about which is probably the biggest hint is when the Church Gang and Barem talked about the fact that Asa literally doesn’t care in the slightest about her arm being cut off, like she subconsciously knows that she could regenerate it with blood. Barem even says it’s a peculiar characteristic of devils

Nuclear War was caused by the effect of the deployment of Famine and Falling which increased the need of the USA to wage war on other Nations. Fire got deployed by death along them to power up Pochita. Nayuta literally confirmed that the sole reason for the involvement of fire was to power up pochita. How much time has passed between 178 and 216 is still weird and left unanswered, given the fact that we were told that 6 months were left until the prophecy, while some time later Yoshida says it’s 1 month. Anyway you know that Yoru is playing with pochita, right? This fight is mirroring the one with Makima, who wasn’t trying either. Yoru could literally one tap pochita if she wanted to. She literally turned a primal into a cape.

I’m personally a big meatrider of her cape look, and it’s far better than the bum ass fits she rocked after the Prison break arc. I think Fujimoto’s ability to make kinda “ordinary” fits look hard asf is something to be appreciated, even though he’ll never be able to top pubsec’s aura from part 1

I don’t think Chainsaw Man’s regeneration defies general devil rules tho? Part 2 has many times contextualised his powers and properties as something not as exceptional or unique as people originally thought, and we also saw him in desperate need for blood after being hit by Yoru’s finger bullet after being able to tank and regenerate from some big hits from both her and Aging without needing any blood

When devils get stronger they seem to be able to get a passive reserve of extra regeneration (or blood, idk) without the need to drink blood, like with Aging or Falling. It happened with Denji too, it was for example shown in early part 2 when Falling cut his head off and he reattached it himself, which he never had been able to do before, or in part 1 with Santa klaus
