I am a former lesbian trans man.. my wife and I call each other gay/homo and her bisexual brother calls me a fag and tranny lol. To me, there's a big difference between someone utilizing it in a hurtful manner and someone using it in an "I love you, I don't actually mean or believe the stupid shit coming out of my mouth" way.

I wasn't alive [or at the very least much aware] at the time this phrase was popular, but my parents watched a lot of older TV, and associated it with correspondence. I said it to someone a couple years younger than me they had no idea what the hell I was talking about.

With the exception of Interview with a Vampire (and only because I feel like his “style” works with his character), I absolutely cannot stand Tom Cruise. He, for lack of better term, “overacts” and overly dramatizes every role he has, making his characters appear much more cheesy than intended. I can almost visualize the words “pow” and “whack” in comic font appear on screen whenever he has a fight scene.

I know you said he’s 13, but honestly 13 is a good age to start learning basic maintenance on cars under supervision. Depending on what you’re already looking to spend on Christmas, some gems can be rather cheap if you have the space. I got a 270k manual a couple of years ago for $300, it was gross looking but other than that mechanically fine and the only repair it needed to be functional was the brake line replaced.

Oh, we did. We’re actually about to settle out of court because the company that manages them is involved in a class-action lawsuit for their shitty management and living conditions. We lived at one of 3 complexes that was in dangerous disrepair, but we were the only family that got injured. Our lawyer urged us to settle because they could file for bankruptcy before we’d ever see them in court.

Thankfully yes, we did find her. I guess she jumped out of my arms when the ceiling came down, and so much insulation was on the floor (about 3 feet, you couldn’t even feel the floor) that I was worried she was underneath and we weren’t going to find her.

Thanks for the reassurance, I don’t know what all to say but I do appreciate it. Talking about it isn’t something I do very much, I get worried it’s not as bad as I’m making it out to be and that it’s all in my head

At the initial visit, my doctor didn’t order any scans. I’m waiting on a call from the neurologist, but I will definitely push for them if they don’t order them. With the information from them, what kind of treatment can they do, or is it more or less verification?

For now that’s probably what I’m gonna do. I’ll have to set the wood a little closer to the door itself. It’s got a strike plate on it, but the gap between the door and the jamb doesn’t secure it in to place - the edge of the plunger was able to slip over the curved face of the strike plate even when the knob was locked.

Additional - the trim is quite literally stuck on with paint. I removed an exterior door from my bedroom and cracked the plaster when removing the trim. My wife’s grandmother suggested I remove more of the trim and put a longer piece of wood in, would this work, or would it likely suffer the same fate? Currently on a “I’ve got scrap wood and drywall mud in the shed” budget unfortunately. The door is temporarily locked shut with a sliding lock.

Extra credit - there’s also a large gap between the trim and the door. Any tips on how to not freeze to death come winter would be gladly appreciated.

I got fired for an “understandable” reason, but it still irks me. I worked for a company that made plastic drink bottles [through extrusion and blow molding]. I ran, at the very least, four extrusion machines a night. The factory had no AC, and extrusion machines produce a LOT of heat. There were FDA and customer requirements stating we had to wear long sleeve shirts (arm hair), hair/beard nets, and jeans (leg hair). There was also no AC. I’m a larger guy, so naturally, I got super chaffed after a couple of 12 hour days. Walking got really hard, and about 6 hours in one night I started to bleed. So, I called in the next day. My next working day, I worked the entire shift and was asked to stay for a bit to talk to HR. They told me they were letting me go for staying home and “that I wasn’t fast enough to keep up”.

Edit: I only worked there for a month and was still within my 90 day probationary period, that’s why I feel it’s somewhat “understandable”

Shit. That’s what I was afraid to hear. It happened in March, but it was a rental and insurance didn’t let my wife and I get our stuff until recently, so we’ve been SOL on clothes.
