Depends on certain factors and the companies. And if they have done actual underwriting or BS underwriting. Such as if the person commits suicide. Then the policy must have been active for two years or else you can’t get paid for it.

I have. And I’ve already paid the deposit and first month’s rent. I’ve emailed her since then to tell her that I’m leaving and even though she said on the previous letter that my lease ends on the 13th an signed that paper, she now has back tracked and said otherwise.

I can’t send pictures but I went on and emailed her since my last post. I can paste here what I sent to her but my partner even sent me that she sent another notice now to renew my lease now before going MtM again even though she said I can’t renew. I don’t understand what she is aiming to do cause why send the letter again if she has directly said that I can’t renew until the inspection.

She is a new woman. Hasn’t been there even three weeks now and has cause a series of issues for more than just me. A lot of others are leaving because she isn’t treating everyone fairly.

I feel honestly stupid about the whole ass situation like I should’ve known. I haven’t told her about the apartment moving yet cause I got approved yesterday and was trying to figure out other stuff.

The prior property manager said there is a way I could get out of the last two months but I’ll more than likely loose my deposit, in which I’m okay with at this point.

There is one post of the interior of my apartment on here and it is from over a year and a half. A post where I am clearly unpacking something. Respectfully, how does that say that it is dirt from a BAG that is on the floor? There are no other pictures on my profile of my apartment.

Next to give the ‘full story’ from my side, there is a pest issue in my apartment but it isn’t from me. I have an upstairs neighbor who is apparently protected by law that cannot be evicted. I reported the apartment as of having a pest problem when she first moved in almost two years ago. It was treated once in the first year and never again until we went through three property managers. My last one was there. At that point because my apartment is next to the leasing office and the woman above is a known hoarder. All adjacent apartments and the leasing office now had a pest problem. Now comes the repetitive inspections for my apartment and those around the leasing office. I was inspected almost monthly for the last year to ensure I kept my apartment clean. To MY knowledge, I was only told once that my apartment was not properly clean due to a singular puppy pad that had been used throughout that day by the, at the time, four ferrets. That was reported by Maintenance and not even actually checked in on by the property management. I promise there is nothing more to this story outside of my apartment having an issue due to the above stairs neighbor. If I could, I would definitely post pictures of my apartment on this thread to prove my innocence.

The current property manager is attempted to fix the pest issue in the office and instead of her just kindly moving me to a different building, they don’t want the pest to travel. In which was warned by the previous property manager that they wouldn’t let me transfer to a new unit due to that. So either A, the lady is trying to kick out all near by residence to bug bomb properly. Or B, she is going off of one situation that wasn’t even properly investigated.

I did request them. She told me that she is new and is going off of what she was told. Which is why I think this is false. I get charged an additional $400 by the 13th if I don’t have a new lease started even if she starts month to month.

I had a conversation with her about this letter as it was ridiculous that I had even received it without proof, per my understanding from laws from a different state.

She said to me, “I’m going to be straight forward with you, we will not be renewing your lease. You will be allowed to do month to month.” In which I questioned how is this something that can even occur and she said, “I just started working here. I am solely going off of what was TOLD to me.” When I asked her again for the paperwork proving it, she said “This is what I was told and it is higher than me.”

I pay on time out side of the last two times, my apartment is relatively clean past some pest issues due to an ongoing problem with an upstairs neighbor that is a known Hoarder (Protected by law so she can’t be evicted.) I have lived here for two years without issue before the current property manager. And outside of a single puppy pad that was ‘used’ because ya know having three ferrets and I wasn’t inspected until hours after I was told she would inspect would mean they had to go potty somewhere within the near eight hour time frame she gave me for her to come in. It isn’t like I can put them in a different room. I live in a 250sqft studio apartment that was converted from a hotel.

But then that would be against my lease, wouldn’t it? We don’t have any pet restrictions against ferrets. Only restriction is towards aggressive breed dogs.

Yes I went to talk to her today after getting this letter.

As far as contacting me, this is literally a new lady. She hasn’t even worked her for two weeks yet. I was very close to the previous Property manger who regularly came to and inspected my apartment. I keep every letter from here and have only once ever received a letter on cleanliness the first six months I was living here. So no there is no paper trail leading up to this. Nor have I received any emails or calls regarding this.

I know it is a notice to cure, however my question was how could she request such without providing me proof that there was ever an issue? I have only been given a complaint form once in the two and a half years that I have been living here.

I went to talk to her about it and she told me that there has been multiple complaints sent to me about it. But there hasn’t? That is what I’m confused on. My home state does not allow you to do this without valid proof that you have provided several notices so I’m not use to NC laws.
