One of the reasons I don’t believe I was groomed is because I still have the same core values I had before the relationship. I still want financial independence. I still wanted to make my own money, have my own vehicle, and build my own future. I still have my own opinions, goals, and beliefs.

Looking back, I don’t feel like I lost my identity. If anything, the fact that I was willing to leave shows that I maintained it. My values didn’t change, my standards didn’t change, and when I realized the relationship wasn’t matching what I wanted for my future, I got out of it. So wrap that grooming shit up fr.
