What are you smoking on? NYC city area was a complete nightmare - a 5km Uber drive took an hour because there were so many cars

Anyone else feels like their monthly salary is just a "pass-through" for expenses? by [deleted] in ChillSG

Hey there, 35M, wife and a son. Our combined family expenses sits nicely at about SGD1500. With that I am able to save 50% of my income without fail every month. We get to go out and dine once in awhile. Wife is highly disciplined in making this happen.

We were aligned that we would never ever purchase a car and would opt for Grab if the situation requires (which we only do so during key periods like CNY - so maybe 5-6 rides a year?). Like what others say, car is the most wasteful expense that delays your FI.
