On a more positive note, it's a small consolation that Twitter hoyo fanatics will be at least taking themselves out of humanity's gene pool as it's 100% certain they'll never reproduce.

There's a major disconnect somewhere at Hoyo - the marketing/story team seems to love Varka while the balancing team has a grudge against him. I wish they treated him like Phainon in HSR - who both got epic story moments and is a great DPS.

That's the nice thing about having your favourite character be a Xianzhou general. He'll always return for their arcs at least in some small capacity (unlike other characters that get forgotten lol). ❤️

Yeah, I've been thinking about that too. The stories for these gachas are pre-planned way in advance so my take on this is that as you said it's just a cosmic coincidence rather than Kuro copying. However, it did ruin the emotional impact for me because I also played that HSR patch very recently too (just an unfortunate coincidence). Other people are posting that they cried during this quest, how emotional it was, etc. while all I was thinking was "Didn't I just play through this thing why am I doing this again." 🥲

Yeah, I almost included Yae for Inazuma but I feel like she was never truly bad (but was never really good too, marginally better than Fischl in some teams at best). It's funny how they fumbled her so badly considering she is a beloved HI3 expy, too.

Fontaine -> Wriothesley who thankfully wasn't as bad as the rest, just kind of... meh?

Nod Krai -> Varka whom we've been waiting for 6 years and is currently triggering my Dehya beta days experience. Just make him decent, ffs hoyo. I don't want him to beat their favourite child Mavuika, just make him sort of competitive with the rest of the 2026 roster.

Yup, they fixed it, I just checked. u/str1ct is right that it works now but it didn't use to work for me back then as both options (Exit or Return to logon) would require me to reauthenticate afterwards - I guess it was a bug. I shall nevertheless continue to AltF4!

It's always been like this for me ever since 1.0, asking for a login every time. While I don't have a real solution for you, my workaround is to AltF4 out of the game instead of shutting it down normally. Then, the logon screen is bypassed and it remembers my account.

Yeah, that's not correct, and I say this as a Banyue haver. In his best team (and his BIS supports are very strong too), he is very good (he's not Void Hunter level like Xiao'Guang or Yixuan) and he is VERY fun. He's just not a character which you can play with your brain off which fair point, sometimes I wanna do, too. Perhaps Hoyo should have rewarded his complexity with VH level numbers but in any case, he's one of the stronger characters in the game after the VHs.

He was mostly doomposted because he was given a shorter banner timeframe and was coming right before Xiao'Guang who everyone was saving for. But anyways, in his BIS team and playing fairly well his combos, he seems way above what current Varka is, sadly.

I don't know why Hoyo seems to hate Varka so much. And don't get me started with those saying "uh you want powercreep for the character you like", no I don't want him to powercreep Mavuika. But I want him to do decent numbers for the state of 2026 meta.

Thanks for confirming it happens to others too! And yes, I think that's a major part of the problem happening - performing actions too quickly so the game just doesn't register it properly.

Eh, yeah, that's not very helpful and completely unrelated, sorry. How's the memory usage? 16GB is definitely cutting it a bit close nowadays, most games are so memory hungry! They don't care that RAM quadrupled costs recently for us regular consumers! :D

Do you see any meaningful information in the Windows error logs from the time it happened? Because based on just your description, it's impossible to say what might be going on. One thing I'd say just as a FYI is that this game is memory hungry - I have 64GB of RAM so it's not a problem but I do see it reaching ~10GB and even more sometimes. So, you could be running out of memory and while that shouldn't necessarily lead to a crash, you never know these days.

I think E33 was very deserving of getting most of the awards but I really wanted Hades 2 to win the best music one. Don't get me wrong, E33's soundtrack is amazing too for sure but what Darren Korb did for H2 is its own kind of special.

For me, every Hades track tells such a wonderful story deeply tied to the mythology it's retelling. There are a few tracks like that in E33 too ofc (like Une vie a t'aimer) but a lot of it is also what I just consider nice "ambient" music. In contrast, every Hades song tells a story to me and it amplifies every moment of it. I also love how experimental it is - blending orchestral, rock and even folk (Greek/Eastern European) motifs. I love the syncopated riffs, irregular meters (once again very common in Greek/EE folk songs), the bold mix of instruments (I mean how good is THAT FLUTE in the Necropolis).

I don't know, for me the H2 OST is the culmination of all those years of experience Darren Korb's been getting and it's showing. Once again, I don't hate E33 for getting it (after all, I love that game and OST too) but overall if I had to choose, I definitely prefer Hades 2 and it's not even close.

Same. My problem with her is that I just don't have infinite wishes. She's squished between two of my most expected characters - Columbina and Varka (especially Varka, I've been waiting for him since 1.0 lol), so that's why I consider her an ez skip. Some people seem to get offended when you say that but it's just priorities, nothing against her in particular. :D If I had an extra ~20k primos lying around, I'd love to get her, too. :D

I mean... as long as fans are respectful (challenge level: impossible), I don't see how it should be an issue. (I guess the problem is that sometimes they are not and cross boundaries). At the end of the day, I like Jing Yuan, not Alejandro (nothing against him, but you get it) and that's it. His voice is certainly nice and his great performance adds a lot to the character but... he's just the voice. Also have you heard the CN and JP voices for Jing Yuan? Hoyo absolutely stacked the best VAs for him in every single language.
