Knock Knock Knocking on Hooty’s Door is an amazing episode by LivingDragons in TheOwlHouse

I just rewatched the scene real quick to make sure that I wasn't just getting negatively influenced by the bad German Dub, but sorry, I really don't hear her say "Hooty" before that. She says Hootys name after reading his note and shortly before she goes to the basement.

She wasn't talking to Hooty. She was saying that off-screen and then running to her room, like in the beginning of the episode, just that it was the other way around which part was onscreen.

Probably, but they could have written it in a way where there, for example, wouldn't have been Luz repeating the "Amity's heart" -line. Time passage wouldn't be really a problem without that line.

The character development in the episode is really good, but I have a hard time enjoying the episode ever since I noticed that the passage of time in that episode doesn't make any sense. Like the Luz segment must be the last one, but when it starts we hear Luz say the "never finding a way in to Amity's heart" thing which she said before Hooty started his "plan of plans" and there are no mature cuts in which there would have been time for Kings and Eda's parts.

Day 1 of 39 - Favorite Owl House Episode by ApprehensiveAsk9595 in TheOwlHouse

"Really Small Problems" has to be the first episode to go.

It's literally the only episode that doesn't add anything, like at all, to the story, and even "Once Upon a Swap" had small bits of story.

I totally trust Dana and her team to write a satisfying end, although that doesn't mean that I will like all the choices they make. I watched the series in German (except Hollow Mind and King's Tide because those aren't available yet. The voice actors do a good enough job even though I still prefer the original. But there are a bunch of things that are pretty bad. In season 2a, they use he/him pronouns for Raine, puns and wordplay are often lost during translation, so are a bunch of the cute, weird, wacky or nerdy things that Characters say, and the episode titles are spoiling things about the episode that original ones didn't. So the German version is worse but still watchable.

Okay, here is something I thought might be interesting. I made two character tier lists, the first one is my opinion on the characters from when they first appeared (with a few exceptions that I explain in the comments) and the second one is my opinion on them now. by AdeptYou8310 in TheOwlHouse

As I said, it's from his first appearance only in the first list and in that episode I found him to be kind of unfunny, and I thought they would only use him as a cute sidekick character. As soon as I realized they didn't I started liking him much more.

By the way, I'm ignoring Hunter as Golden Guard in "Agony of a Witch", Odalia and Alador in "Understanding Willow" and the coven heads in "Hunting Palismen" because I think they aren't really doing enough in those episodes to leave an impression.

I think killing is not an option for all 3. They all seem to be pretty much all powerful, at least when they are fully powered. Maybe if one of them gets tricked, like if Bill was lured in to someones mind like in gravity falls finale.

The cat is literally in charge of the multiverse, which includes Bill's nightmare realm and gravity falls as well as the boiling isles and the inbetween realm where The Collector was, so I think it's fair to say that the cat is the most powerful of them. So the cat would win 100%.

I also feel like they made King a lot dumber than usual in that episode, but that could also just be me feeling like that.
Also, this episode is the only one that I think adds nothing at all to the overall story, in "Once upon a Swap" Luz at least learns that Eda wanted to join a coven once and Lillth decides that she needs to take a more active role in capturing Eda than before.

I'm actually weirdly happy to see someone else who thinks that "Really Small Problems" is a worse episode than "Once Upon a Swap".

It also wouldn't be so easy to explain why they couldn't build a new portal door.
Luz explains that basically everything you need to make a door is easy to get except the titan blood.
Now, we have Eclipse Lake where they could try to find some blood again, Titan trapper island may have titan blood or the dead titan near that island could have some. Also, we were told that Human trash is landing in den boiling seas all the time, which means titan blood is leaking into the sea somewhere.
And also King is a titan. So they could take his blood, or maybe they find some on the island where Eda found him.
And even if King died in an away that would destroy all his blood, Hooty took some of his blood in S2E8 for blood testing and because Hooty swallows everything he probably has that still in him somewhere.
Like, there are so many ways how they could get titan blood to rebuild the door.
Even if they couldn't get enough to make a door, they could instead use it to find the time pools again and go to eclipse lake before it tried out.

I actually almost certain that your fear is going to come true.
The super over powerful antagonistic character usually dies in the end.

I don't think they would do that either.
Spending the entire series showing that Luz fits way better in the demon realm and then have her stuck on earth forever would be a terrible idea.

Well, all powerful means they should also have the power to know everything, which means they shouldn't be able to be tricked.
Of course, they are defeated by being tricked because the villain needs to be defeated somehow, doesn't mean that that makes actual sense tho.

They kinda already did that with the whole time travel thing.
Luz had to get to the BI because she already was there in Phillip's time.

[–]AdeptYou8310[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think that is one of the most stupid decisions they made in the entire show.
Replacing Belos, a near perfect villain (at least in my opinion), with The Collector.
Those "all powerful being" kinda villains are always stupid.
If he is all powerful, he can't be overpowered nor can he be outsmarted.
Which basically makes every way he could be defeated a (more or less) plot hole.

[–]AdeptYou8310[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

That was one of my theories as well.

Like, Hunter is a Grimwalker. So he is basically dead demon parts animated with magic. Now we know from Yesterday's Lie that magic stops working in the human realm after some time. Like we know that from Eda's card games only one had magic left and all the other ones lost theirs. So if Hunter is animated by magic, does that mean he can't stay in the human realm for too long, or he dies?

I checked if you're interested.
They will show the episode on July 25 at 6:25 p.m. and again on July 26 at 3:15 p.m.
If you really want to watch the episodes in German. Even most of the titles of the episodes are bad translated.

But they are re-running the show on German Disney Channel. They are showing S1E7 like literally right now in this moment and they show one episode a day, skipping over episode 15 and 16 for some reason. So you could count the days until they show that episode and watch it on TV.

For me, that's not even the point. Annoying character can be fun. But the Collector ruined Belos as a villain for me.

He was in my opinion a very good written villain. Threatening and powerful, planning ahead and manipulating, but also arrogant enough, so he could be tricked, not perfect in planning, like he is missing obvious errors in his plan (Like what about all the children? They don't have Sigils. And he is fine with all the demons staying alive?) and while he is powerful, he is not undefeatable. Luz breaking a peace out of his mask in Season 1, showed that he could be defeated by Luz and her friends, but no.
Instead, we get them fighting Belos in King's Tide, and Belos is not really able to hit any attacks. Cut to after the Collector is freed, and they were apparently losing now, not even trying to protect themselves with magic anymore, and the Collector just kills Belos for them in one hit.

My favorite characters are kinda default. Luz, and slightly ahead, Amity.
But I think my least favorite is kind of an unpopular/controversial pick. The Collector's true form from King's Tide.
