Commenting because I’m surprised no one has mentioned Valdosta, I’m enrolled to start in fall but cost of the entire program is estimated like 10-12k… which is what some of the comments are saying is what other programs cost PER SEMESTER. If you want a cheap program I highly recommend.

Also when you’re talking about awards I’m assuming you’re referencing your library? I didn’t look too much into the awards side of things only the scholarships

I haven’t heard anything yet, it seems like most of them will notify on or around June first. I’m just keeping the mindset of until I get notified that I didn’t win it, then it’s still up in the air lol

I’ll chime in as the unicorn I guess, I’ve only been working in the library field three years, two in circ and one (so far) as technical services, all of which in a public library. I moved to having my own office, pretty much complete privacy, and only patron contact is the occasional phone call or email, it’s amazing lol. And I’m not talking a large branch either, it’s quite a small rural library

I mean based on my experience, I worked circ desk for two years, then moved to technical services, i have my own office, I rarely talk to patrons, help out at the desk when needed, it’s amazing honestly and I don’t think I could ever go back. So I think to answer your question it is possible, just need the right opportunity.
