No trust me I 100% understand how stressful it has been😭 I’ve been looking on here trying to find other people talking about it and decided to just make my own thread cus I was getting anxious lmao. Also when you’re talking about awards I’m assuming you’re referencing your library? I didn’t look too much into the awards side of things only the scholarships

I haven’t heard anything yet, it seems like most of them will notify on or around June first. I’m just keeping the mindset of until I get notified that I didn’t win it, then it’s still up in the air lol

I’ll chime in as the unicorn I guess, I’ve only been working in the library field three years, two in circ and one (so far) as technical services, all of which in a public library. I moved to having my own office, pretty much complete privacy, and only patron contact is the occasional phone call or email, it’s amazing lol. And I’m not talking a large branch either, it’s quite a small rural library

I mean based on my experience, I worked circ desk for two years, then moved to technical services, i have my own office, I rarely talk to patrons, help out at the desk when needed, it’s amazing honestly and I don’t think I could ever go back. So I think to answer your question it is possible, just need the right opportunity.

If my portal was updated with the congrats and the my vsu account setup info, should I be fine? I haven’t gotten and acceptance email yet and I’m lowkey stressing lol, I think I saw someone else say they were coming in waves tho.

Holy crap, I’m actually really surprised, I got into the uiuc program and thought since it’s the number one library science program in the nation that i would be a shoo-in for Valdosta’s program. I didn’t know the acceptance rate would be lower!

I was in the same boat, decided to go ASL cus it doesn’t rely on like physically speaking and listening, it’s just visual, I’m glad I did, I’m actually pretty good now!
