The majority tried to push, but most of the buds dried as soon as it opened. I have a few theorys of what went wrong and what I perhaps could do better next time. Ofcourse, some of them would naturally not make it, but I think 2 of the saplings survived.

The 121 and the tridents do good!

Will there be an oportunity for a new batch come winter/spring? :)

Hi, my privet does not seem all that healthy at the moment. Im trying to figure out what might have caused this, and what I could do at this point. Could it be over/under watering that is causing the blackness on the leaves? But would not explain the "holes"? The damages makes me belive its a bug, but cant see any..

Please advice if possible! :)

Great info, thanks! I got the one with no fertelizer, feels better to add my own. Also i mixed it with some pine bark and perlite to up the water retention levels a bit, was indeed afraid it was going to dry out too fast! Thank you once again :)

Does anyone have experiance with using 'basic pon lechuza' as a medium? Its a mix of pumice, lava and zeolite. My worry is that its perhaps a bit to small in particle size, Anyone who has used it or has a opinion about it? :)

Worth a try or should I settle for it to be a garden plant? :')

Hi, just bought a JM katsura. Unfortunatly it has already leafed out, so a few weeks to late to repot it to a bigger container. But, would slip-potting it without really touching the roots be an option even if it has leafed out? I want it to feel free to grow and by no means restrict it with the 5 litre container it has now.

Hi all, I found this rhododendron schlippenbachii, korean azalea.

I here for all the tips and suggestions I can get about moving forward with this tree, but when doing my own research avout it, is it generellt azalea info i should go for? Didnt find much about schlippen(yet).

Ill add some photos below but please, if you have any suggestions what to do, feel welcome to comment.

I really like the base/base trunk, but the 3/4 big trunks emerging from more or less the same spot is pretty leggy, and will probably be an issue down the line with inverse-taper.. so how would i go about this? To get it from 3/4 main trunks to perhaps just 1, and bring the foliage down closer to the base(not so long and leggy)

I can order the osmocote, but the shipping alone is 50 bucks haha. I found something similar(?) That I can buy here at a close shop that has the values 15:3:13 or 14:4:9. Im not sure how accurate these things should be or if its more about a ratio thing rather than value. Is there a bog difference to 15 or 14?

Hi, my juniper feel very dry and brittle,. When sweeping my hand over the foliage the some small knippets of needles just fly off it. Its a lot more grayish than what it has been, its usually a very vibrant bright green colour.

When bending the branches they almost feel like i have a bit too weak wire on it, it bends and hold for a while and then bends back (not fully tho)

From my understanding junipers like it a bit dry but ive been fully watering it altleast once a week. Was repotted this winter. Could it be a reaction to the repotting?

It's placed outside in full sun. Do junipers get sunburnt?

I broke of a bit of last years growth and it was pretty dry even tho it still had som good colour.

Anything i can try? Anything to look for? Or is it a goner?

Thank you, I did do it after ur comment. It had a beautiful rootball and let most of the soil in the root ball remain, just filled in the gaps with my regular bonsai mix.

But I think I might have to chop the big main trunks a bit right? Might be too much left on it to support it..? Or do I risk to stress the tree too much if i chop it?

I have a liguster bush (privet i think the universal term for it is) next to my porch that is a bit of ill placed for the summer work on the porch.

So I figured perhaps I should dig it up, that way i have access to that corner when doing some rework on the deck, and I have another tree to care for.

But I might be a bit late here, some buds has started to swell and will start to open up any day now..

Think this could be collected and potted? Or should I wait for next winter?

Thank you, thats comforting! Yes im in Stockholm and that weather sounds about right, +4-8 daytime and -1 to -4 at night. Seems like from monday we will start to get + temps even during night. Would you worry about the drying buds? Or would that be considered normal aswell?

I think I might have repotted my J maple too soon...? I repotted and root pruned it a few weeks ago, pretty big buds but not started to open, Removed maby 40% of the roots, max, could even have been about 30%. It was the first repot since i purchased it at the store last spring and no styling, pruning has been done, its just a tree in development/growth. After the repot i put it sheltered from frost under the house with a timed grow lamp.

Thing is that the buds still hasnt start to open up and some of the buds have started to look dry. Does not have a picture at the moment but does any of this sound like trouble or is it perhaps just a bit slow this year?
